Share and discuss anything that has to do with good/respectable/shitty music or even personal projects.
I enjoy listening to basically any genre, but if I had to list some of my favorite bands they would be
Fugazi
Mineral
Castevet
Small Brown Bike
American Football
Minor Threat
Algernon Cadwallader
Glassjaw
Tera Melos
I started playing guitar about a year and a half ago and I love jamming with my friends. I'm usually on vocals screaming, yelling or singing. Not really trying to suck my own dick here but we're pretty good but we can't play every day because we're always looking for a spot. This stops us from getting organized and leaving us without a list of solid songs. We do have a couple songs and riffs that we'll remember but it's just not organized enough.
So, anyone here play an instrument? Or does anyone take music at least a little serious? I'd love to have a decent conversation right now.

There are clubs for just about every genre, might want to check those out.
Yeah, whatever.

When you find a post hardcore or midwestern 90's emo club let me know. And I'd rather not talk about this kinda stuff with a bunch of kids who are already established in their little internet click.
So, here's some footage of a live fugazi song. The quality fades in and out but it's truly amazing in my eyes. The white house in the background makes the video itself ironic.

I play several instruments. Drums, Bass, Guitar, Keys, Djambe, Bagpipes, Banjo, Ukulele, etcetera. I take music pretty seriously. I'm not a professional, but I love it.

Good shit dude. I love keyboard/piano, but I wish I'd gotten into it a little earlier. I've been playing for a couple months now, usually drunk at a friend's house, and I'm taking a class in college for one on one sessions. Can't wait to learn more.

I really enjoy NerdCore hip-hop, the name should make it obvious enough to what it is. I actually recently got into making tracks myself and am currently working on my first collaboration with another artist. Its very awesome.

Yeahman, if you like mineral you should check out this band knapsack. Also, the getup kids, but if you know that lineup you've definitely heard of them.
Knapsack. Check'em out. Very similar to mineral.
Forgot to mention cap'n jazz, one of my favorite bands right now.

I play the electric guitar, and favor the metal style of music. However, I also enjoy playing bluegrass and melodic riffs.
When it comes to musical taste, I heavily prefer metal and classical; I like these genres because I believe them to be superior not only in their sounds, but in the skill it takes to play them.

Don't really listen to music as much as I use to, but it's still a major part of my life.
Been listening to Panda Bear and The Mountain Goats.
Some favorites: Radiohead, At The Drive-In, Animal Collective, Pink Floyd, The Mars Volta, Maps and Atlases, Between the Buried and Me, The Beatles, Bright Eyes, and Sufjan Stevens.
I've been musical all my life: use to play the grand piano at my grandparents' house before they moved, and sing when I was young. Went into music and band; spent seven years playing trumpet in concert band. I can play a shit ton of instruments, but can't say I play them well.
Lately, I've been working on a lot of music projects (Folk, Noise, Ambient, IDM (or trying), Psychedelic, and some Math), but I'm a bit of a perfectionist, so it takes a while to feel comfortable with releasing a piece..
Sorry for the outpour; music is, more or less, my life right now.
You listen to Battles?

Yeah I listen to a lot of Cap'n Jazz, Joan of Arc, Owen, etc. I have listened to Knapsack and getup kids too. I'd recommend The Anniversary if you like them.
A couple of other bands I can think of are Empire! Empire! (I was a lonely estate), Snowing, and Sharks Keep Moving to name a few.

Also, Tonetta777
