If you are an audio gal who lives in Britian (England, I don't know) and you love gaming and can do audio synthesis and audio production (most of us here can), then Runescape's Jagex has a great proposition for you. Today they just opened up a position for an audio developer (I check the site every day for open positions to see the requirements), and they pretty much need exactly what we on the audio forum have. I can't qualify for their job but I check every day so that when a position like this opens up, I know the requirements for the job in the future.
If you want nice benefits, a well-known solid gaming company, and some cool people, then go over there and check out the site. And act fast mates because it's competitive.

Go to the current vacancies tab and choose the audio developer section.
This is not a scam or a joke. It's the real company and the first time I've seen an audio job for them.
Just lookin' out for my audio mates.

All I know is I think Jarrydn lives around there. Also, the site says that pay is based on experience, and you get benefits such as health insurance, annual bonuses, and gym memberships.

Well it doesn't say you HAVE to be in the Cambridge area, you'd just have to relocate ;)
That would be quite a snag! I hope someone from NG applies and get it. That would be awesome!

That said, its always been my dream to live and work in the UK, so as to disassociate myself from the fat cat Americans, and to experience another culture without having to learn another language. I am almost tempted to apply, however I doubt the pay is enticing enough.

Lol, irony.
It's a foley job, too! I'd love to get into something like that. I might see if I can contact them for a summer job. Anyone good with additive synthesis, creative recording, has used Pro-Tools to sync audio and video, likes video games and can mix convincingly would seriously want to look at this job.
Might see if they'll give me part time work this summer if I can't find a studio to hire me.

I am sure they don't do part-time work. They are very resistent to volunteer work, so I think part-time might be in that same range.

I'd love to work for Jagex. Runescape is pretty poplar, and when I was in 6th grade I remember EVERYONE played it. The music was also pretty cool for stock MIDI sounds.
Too bad I'm in the US

You can still work for them if you are willing to relocate.

Cool! It would be nice to offer our skills in developing their games in the UK.

Never mind, I'd have to live in Cambridge for that.
