Hentai in college?

I was in the dorm room of one of my friends (and yes I realize that you guys will say that it's be, but for the sake of conversation I don't care who you think I'm speaking of, just give out your opinions on the matter) writing an essay on the philosophical applications of the play Death of a Salesman. Since I was in his room, I was obviously using his laptop since I spend all my money on other things music-related so I don't have my own. Being the productive person that I am, I clicked onto the URL browser bar and started typing "How to Destroy Angels" (the new band with Trent Reznor, his wife, and Atticus Ross) so I could look up info and perhaps any new updates from them. "How" starting with an H suddenly made firefox come up with a fairly large listing of recent sites, all of them having the word "hentai" in the name.

A couple things happened for me here. The first thing obviously was to chuckle, get on facebook, and tell another one of my friends over chat of my discovery. The second being a slightly delayed realization that the kid I was sitting across from had used the same laptop I was using to fap to Naruto. This bit didn't make me chuckle. However, I manned up (or gay'd up?) and accepted it, and finished writing my essay and sped out of the room back to my dorm, anticipating a shower.

This has made me think though, is it a personally but not socially acceptable to watch porn, especially that of the drawn type? Is it a normal thing for college students to enjoy the idea of being with cartoons? Is it just a phase of this kid's life that he hasn't gotten past yet? Or is it a deeper psychological problem, considering the fact that he's obessing over drawings despite him being on a huge college campus filled with slutty girls ready to put out? Especially here at the University of Georgia, recently voted number one for college parties and like number 3 on booze and hard liquor.

More importantly though, do I do the most dick move possible and expose this kid's fascination to the world in hopes of him abandoning it in favor of real sex?

I understand this is a bit of an awkward subject, but what do you think, my fellow newgrundlings?

Don't be a dick and shout him out like that. What the hell kind of friend would do that? He's entitled to club his seal to whatever he wants to. Chances are he's still sexually attracted to the girls around campus and if he isn't, big flipping deal. It's his life, and you shouldn't even get involved in something like that.

I'm not going to deny this. UGA isn't my type of college. Too much rides on frats/sororities to the point that it becomes stupid. I've visited Georgia Tech though, and it has a much more laid back atmosphere. The few times I've visited Tech I've had more fun there than my entire life here at UGA.

Seems true enough. It's interesting though, how people will get ridiculed for something that is apparently fairly common. I guess the boundary between personal and public life, especially when it comes to sex, is a large one.

The friend I told (who is also my best friend) was in what one would call an inner-circle group with me and the hentai kid. We're more open with eachother. We kind of figured things about hentai kid, this was more of a confirmation type thing with my other friend. It was more of a "for the lulz" type thing rather than anything else. I knew that he wouldn't tell anybody else since I've just known him for so many years already. And anyways, he's probably forgotten about it anyways, seeing as to how he's the most forgetful person I've ever met. Hell, I'd forgotten about it until a few minutes before I posted the thread. This all happened several weeks ago.
