This is the uber retarded thread where you get to exalt your own personal taste while putting down the tastes of just about everyone else.

Go on, tell everyone how hardcore your favorite metal shredding is, how the bass notes in your techno of choice illicits the most diarrhea from its listeners, or how complicated the harmony is in your classical music. Then, after failing to realize that there is no accounting for taste, state why another type of music is inferior.

Theres a reason you have to take 2 years of music theory to even begin to grasp the complexity of western classical music. In my eyes, superiority isnt about how much you like a piece, its about how intelligently a piece a made. Popular music is full of intelligent mixing and tricks to be catchy, but I respect them for that alone, and could care less about their otherwise inferior musical minds.

In retrospect:

Jazz is for potheads and black people

Rock/punk is for christians and people with minimum wage jobs

Rap/R&B is for white people who think they are black, and for teenage girls with under 80 IQ

Electronic Music is for drug addicts and pale people

Classical Music is for intelligent upper class white folk with respectable carreer
