So 30 years ago today John Lennon was shot outside his home in NYC. John Lennon was and still is a huge influence to me musically. I grew up listening to the Beatles and Lennon. Most of the first songs i learned on the guitar and piano were written by Lennon. He was one of the reasons why i even bothered learning how to play any instruments. In school band i played the trumpet, baritone horn and the valve trombone. Sometimes before class or on down time me and my friends in band would learn horn lines from the beatles songs like Sgt. Peppers Lonely Heart Club Band.
So on the 30th anniversary of his death today leave some words about how Lennon influenced you musically or some fan appreciation.
inb4 If he wasnt killed nobody would care. Well neil diamond said its better to burn out than fade away, but i think in john lennons case he would have done the same as paul is doing. He might have gone on to write alot of more awesome music and eventually his music would have started to taper down. I would have still been getting his albums just like im doing with mcartney now. Either way a great fellow musician was killed tragically. I feel i should pay homage.

he didn't - but that doesn't mean that someone who influenced a generation shouldn't be remembered - even though he was killed before any of us were born.

I have a frame in my room with the same picture that you posted, it's a shame that most great musicians have to die very soon, but we will always remember how Lennon changed the way music is made.

John Lennon...well, I was a little kid when I was first introduced to his music and still listen to it on occasion. He would have been cool to meet, but he was gunned down just a little over 9 years before I was born. I'm on 68th Street right now, only blocks away from the Dakota. I should probably go there soon and see how many Beatles fans are crowding outside his old building out of curiosity.

I'm not a musician but I do appreciate what John Lennon individually and the Beatles collectively did for music, he may not have lived the greatest life but his contribution to music is undeniable. RIP.

John Lennon was a great artist and man, and never limited himself for anyone.
My kind of guy. Had a brilliant mind and on of his own.
Respect...
A tribute to the Ace Attorney Series and OST. I have so much respect for both of those, that I decided to start my own Remix series.

I absolutely adore The Beatles and John Lennon's work, and who's to say that the man didn't have so much more lyrical talent in him? He may have gone on to write more influential works and reaching a much higher peak than he actually did. With his legacy, he is an impressive individual and I hope he's not forgotten with time.
Albeit, people are of course going to disagree with people here, but that's my view on him.

I was listening to Working Class Hero when I read this. It's a such of sad lost to the world, he wasn't just a very talented musician and song writer, he was a great guy with only one dream: see the world in peace.
I wasn't born when he died, but my parents listened to his music (solo and with The Beatles) all the time.

I've got a better theory... he was a wacko. I think that might make a little more sense.

I love how people gush about how many artists Lennon has inspired while at the same time refusing to listen to anything not from that time period.

Upon my own use of goggle that appears to be a real song, and the speed at which you answered makes it very possible you didn't use it. I accept that my challenge was answered. Good on you.
That being said, did not care for the song.

That being said, did not care for the song.
Personally I would have gone with "simply having a wonderful Christmas time" That's one thing you'd have never expected John and Paul to have in common post beatles, christmas songs. Christmas songs played ad nausium by people who think they're hip.

Almost all I know of Paul McCartney is his collaborations with Michael Jackson
and Yesterday
That's a good song
