I would personally probably choose the second, because as soon as I'd become a numbskull I wouldn't give a shit about being an idiot, being smart just brings complications and stress.

I'd choose to be intelligent although hideous. When all the good-looking idiots get poor jobs, I'll be the one having the last laugh. Besides, beauty is in the eye of the beholder: what you see as the most beautiful thing in the world may be the ugliest to me. Besides, what really matters is who you are, not what you look like.

Although right now, I'm both intelligent and handsome, and I enjoy being both. However, if I had to choose to be only one, I would choose to remain intelligent. Intelligence is concrete and measurable: beauty is not.

I think of it like this: I think, therefore, I am. If I think I am ugly, therefore, I am ugly. If I think I am beautiful, then I am beautiful. Since beauty depends on who you're asking, then I can just change my idea of what beauty is so I see that I am beautiful. Even if others think I'm ugly, all that matters is that I'm a good person and that I'm an intelligent one.

Intelligence is measurable: that's why we have IQ tests: to measure intelligence. We can give numbers to intelligence. These numbers do not vary no matter who's conducting the test. You can give a number to intelligence, but not beauty. So, I can just change my perspective of what beauty is, and I end up being the one who ultimately gains.

Some people are nothing without beauty. If the definition of beauty were to suddenly change, then they would be nothing. Such a life would then be miserable. By having intelligence, then I would know that beauty truly wouldn't matter, and I would be able to focus on much more important things in life. Beauty is low on my priority list.

I wish I could go on longer, but I don't think I have enough room here, so I'll end this post here.

Consider that neither would be without their insecurities. While the smart person may not be happy with the bodies, leading to insecurity with a side dish of experiencing prejudice, for the stupid person, being stupid and being ignorant are not the same thing. I know some people who have good looks, aren't so bright and they're aware of the later. They know that they're not as intelligent as the people around them and that causes them to feel inadequate in comparison.

Then consider that happiness with oneself is subjective. There are many beautiful people who are insecure about themselves while there are ugly people that don't have a problem with being ugly.

At least, that's looking at it from the angle of which would make you more happy.

So, for that reason, I would take the former: intelligent but ugly. I'd feel much better about myself if I knew that I got somewhere because of my intelligence than if I got somewhere by being attractive and I could always find my niche with equally as intelligent yet ugly people, of which there are many.

I would be ugly as sh*t and extremely smart because with my intelligence, I could get a bunch of money, especially in today's economy, and spend it to look amazing so I would get both! I couldn't if I chose the latter.
