Creature Of The Week Xmas #1 2010-12-03 18:32:59

Hello.

As a one-off for Christmas, I've decided to host 3 winter-themed Creature of the Week (COW) topics.

What's COW?
COW is just a forum activity where you guys and gals design a creature concept that ties in with the theme. At the end of the week a voting thread is created, where all visitors of the art forum are welcome to picj their favourite. There are no prizes, but it's all in good fun.

There are 3 themes coming your way, and this is the first:
This week's bone-chilling theme: ARCTIC TERROR!!!
Design a scary monster that lives at the North Pole.

===CREATURE OF THE WEEK RULES===
- Only one entry per user will go through to the vote thread.
- You cannot post your old work.
- No human likenesses.
- No real-life animals (play-on-names are fine).
- No creature chimeras.
- A description for your creature is recommended, but not necessary.
- No MS Paint.
- If I decide not enough time has been spent on a submission, it won't be accepted.
- Entries MUST be known to the host of the contest.
- All other Art Forum rules apply.

Deadline is the 10th of December, at 11:59pm NG time. Or whenever.

This is really good mike, i like the idea and your painting style is cool. The symmetry with the foreground and the general composition makes it seem like it's a section of the main picture. It would be better with a larger sense of space and size. Also it is noticeable that both the creatures are exactly the same.

Perhaps they need more of a neck or more seperation between their body and head, I imagine them having relatively long expendable necks for eating things and can't see how they would manage to consume much with such stumpy heads.

I actually drew up a sketch for this and everything, but after several lame attempts at digital painting set it back down. Might have another crack at it tommorrow, but yeah, I'm in this.

pic for proof. Sketch, anyway.

Recently a group of archeologist's have found a full skeleton of an yet unknown species.
They called it the: Kissomoraptor.
This animal seems to be related to the T-rex and possible Big foot, it once lived in the ice age.
it mostly fed on cute snow rabbits and adorable seals, but would eat anything if hungry.
Studies have shown that this amphibious has no real natural weapon to defend foe's off.
but now they came to the discovery that his weapon was his tongue.
The tongue is the most flexible muscle imaginable and this animal has a giant armored one.
Now our team has reconstructed the Kissomoraptor to show you how deadly this animal is.

full view, and skeleton HERE
