Decreasing music file size 2010-11-29 20:31:51 Reply

Whenever I import and loop a music sample, the file size sky rockets above the file size limit for newgrounds. How do I reduce the size?

Do you have "Compress Sounds" checked under your application properties? That reduces it a fair bit.

Thanks aplenty to Phobotech for the great user icon.

there are more than one way to reduce sound file size. you can use an audio editor (mp3 editor for free) and lower the bit rate. that reduces quality as well, but sometimes you can find that useful. since tgf2 uses lame_enc.dll it converts the audio to mp3 so it's gonna be useless unless you can export in mp3. the free version of mp3 for free only exports in .wav so you should use a freeware mp3 converter that converts files to mp3 format. the one i found can convert in a myriad of qualities.
