I was wondering if anyone knew where to find some good hits, stabs, and reverse effects BESIDES vengeance packs. Also though, if anyone knows a good way to make some of em I'd love to hear that as well.

Chord hit with a longass hall reverb and offset stereo delay. Export and reimport the sample and reverse it. You can create some wicked effects that way.

Ok I feel really stupid asking this, but a chord hit of what? Just anything? I imagine it could vary depending on the tone or something to go with a different feel of a song or whatever.

No, that's my point here. I've seen and hears the sample libraries of people I know who DO have the Vengeance packs. Honestly they're just what I'm looking for but I can't exactly blow $100 on a sample pack.

Take white noise and filter it with high pass and maybe a little bit of low pass near the end to smooth it out.

IT'LL MAKE A SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH SOUND!!!! :D :D

Anything, also tinker around with different delay times for L/R and crazy stuff like that. Just play around and you'll make some wicked stuff.

They are lying to you. It's impossible to get good SFX. You have to buy the sample packs, there is no other way. They can only be made with godly hands and ears.

Just screw around in your program with synthesizing and sampling and effects and you'll make some cool stuff in no time.

Check out Morphone music on my page and on Youtube. All varieties of music here.

Yeah I would never advise someone to use pre-made sound effects. Look into sound design, there are far too many aspects to go over. Manipulation of sound is key, with good manipulation abilities you can turn just about any sound into any other sound. A fun way to start is to get a portable recording set up and go around sampling a bunch of stuff and playing with reversing, stretching, and other effects. Other ways include messing with synthesis, which is a beast in itself
