Do you seriously care this much about being recognised on a board that consists mainly of American teenagers spouting 4chan memes?

Yeah, kiddo. You forget, I'm an attention whore. Any publicity is good publicity.
Even from your runt ass.

I have to admit this was my thought too. Which is a little ironic considering I don't imagine anyone else jumping to the chance to specially do this.

Also the more I've thought about it, the more it doesn't make sense to me that you're telling people who they can't vote for. Twilight if people think you're an attention whore then they think that. You might know you've toned down a bit but others might still hold that opinion of you. Same when it comes to thinking Poozy is overrated or Scarab is the best poster, though most people who know him a bit more over Stickam and the BBS will know that isn't the case anymore - to others he does still have a good name. This isn't about me being 'exempt' from Never Logs Off either. I have been on this site increasingly less this year than I usually am but probably still more than a lot of users. So what? I don't care about me, don't count my nominations at all if you want, that's fine.
I just think you guys are actually making these awards more serious then they ever used to be when you start picking and choosing things like this and telling people they can't vote for certain people just because they tend to be popular in a certain category each time round. There is usually a reason why these people tend to get picked for these categories, not just mass voting through idiocy. People whine about them being in those categories yet they are the ones doing the voting and have the power to choose other users if they wish to.
I dunno Gagsy I kinda like the fact that people get "retired" when they have won the award over and over and people only vote for them because, frankly, they've always been voted for - then it's no longer a matter of voting it's a "here is your automatic award".
And like you said as the years go by they might not even fit the award anymore. It cuts out the "stupid" votes, lets say.

I think though when it comes to the negative awards, if someone keeps getting voted in for them then that is an issue that person alone needs to be addressing, because ultimately there is always some reason why they keep getting nominated, and not just because of habit.

I agree with all of this.

True.
Sweet, I got my first vote.
Most underrated.

Actually, its quite a simple equation really....
If you vote 1 mod as the best mod of the bbs, then all of the other mods might get mad at you and ban you, and if you vote any of the mods as the worst mod on the bbs, then they might get mad at you for saying that they are doing a bad job. So inorder to counteract this effect of jelousy and envy, you can just say that all of the mods are the best and none of the mods are the worst so that they won't have a reasonable escuse to ban you since you are saying that all of the mods are good and none of the mods are bad.
now you see how my solution protected me from a ban?

There have long been 'better' posters than me, whether that be in debating something of interest, being consistently funny or just having some good, quick 'n' easy one-liners. I admittedly am not good at quick one-liners. I'm better at numerous paragraphs, hence why I was likely to do so well last year, when I had the time and patience to write arguments and so on. I liked writing this thread, but it was a one-off in the context of tthe whole year and clearly wasn't all that interesting to anyone else.
Heck, just to name ten folk I personally would consider good candidates this year: WaterShake, IFUN, JohnnyWang, WritersBlock, yurgenburgen, Ragnarokia, Auz, Fro, Heretic-Anchorite and Ejit. Yes, even Ejit. He my doooooog. And that's not counting all the people I love for altogether different reasons.
I found your tone interesting though. And the fact that you brought up Stickam. Just saying, not implying anything mean-spirited or anything.

Everyone should vote for me as Best Poster, k?
scarab it amazes me how eloquently you can convey yourself on newgrounds and yet how half the time on stickam you just sound like a drunken git babbling incoherently or singing terribly lol..

I'm not a fan of Stickam, or public chat rooms in general, when I'm sober. I'm shy like that in real life unless you get onto a topic I really know a lot about, or if I want to show you something. I don't think the Stickam folk are 'bad' at all (going back to that healthy philosophy: how can you truly 'hate' anyone you know only online?), but the community's not really my cup of tea. I know most if not all of you are very friendly, and I hope the rooms stay up for a long time. They're very popular for good reasons.
My drinking, which is now certainly alcoholism of a sort, is more of a personal matter that I can't really talk about here (not to say that I haven't taken a lot away from talking about with NGers in private). Stickam's not the only place where I do what I do, though it might be lesser elsewhere. I don't know to be brutally honest sometimes, I can practically never remember what I do. I'm both thankful and ashamed for and of repression. Rest assured, I am receiving help. I'm not 'cured'.
But Hell, that's better that randomly dry-heaving constantly. Especially on the bus where the old people are scared that you'll throw up all over them.
My advice to anyone, particularly those younger than me (and try not to take this as a sort of condescending lecture, I'm far from 'experienced'): if you think you're the sort to problem drink, whatever magnitude, don't get the ball rolling.
And then you might earn some BBS awards!!!
yeah if you can't handle your drink - stay out of the bar :)
