If we went back in time maybe a year or two, I'd have spent a day off playing video games and watching TV. These days video games don't appeal all that much to me and I've come to the realisation that daytime TV does nothing but make the day even more dull. Especially when you're watching repeats on Dave.
It has gotten to the stage now where I think I'm going to finish off some coursework, which is beneficial I suppose, but it's not exactly the most exciting way to spend a day off.
This is where you come in, Newgrounds. If you were in a similar situation to me right now, what would you be doing?
Posting on the BBS, playing video games and watching TV are not acceptable answers.

How about planning on going to see a movie?
Go shopping?
DVDs = Fun?
If all else fails sounds to me like you need a hobby.
Going to the gym may be beneficial, and a burner of time....and fat. I go to the gym on days off work, visit my girlfriend, draw stuff (which lately is now linked with posting to the bbs). I dont play video games, i don't have a console to play them on.
If your into music why not learn an instrument?
my first respone would have been catch up with friends but not even i can really do all that much these days since i get monday tuesday off while the rest of my friends work mon-fri and the ones that dont work are either broke or just happy to get stoned and play video games
I'll bring my own fridge
Get a new hobby that doesn't take much time or effort but can kill a few hours.
Some examples off the top of my head,
- Programming
- Lock Picking
- Body language
- Art (stencil art if you're not great at drawing but can get creative in a graphics program)
- Exercise
Or study something you've always been interested in (not formal study, just get a few books out from the library).
I'm only in class from 9am to 11am today so I get to spend the next 9 hours of my "free" time revising for an exam I have next Friday.
Uni is FUN.
have u seen those neocubes? they look like fun and they are meant to exercise your brain, im not sure how much replay value they have but im thinking of getting one myself for train trips to work.

I agree with you, this is definitely something that I need to look into.

Sadly, the gym has never been something that appealed to me so it's not really an option.

Well, this suggestion has worked. I've decided to pick up my guitar and play it again, just like old times. It should keep me amused for a few hours. Thanks.

Basically, I'm doing a computer science degree, so doing my coursework would mean programming. It's not that I don't enjoy it or anything, but it's not really something I want to be doing on a day off.

This is something I always consider doing, but I have exams in a few weeks, so learning something unrelated right now is only going to make things harder on me.

I agree. Second year is a lot harder than first year was, and the work load only increases.

Sounds like you just summed up your daily routine.

No, I have not. If anything, looking them up will keep me occupied for a few minutes.
