Here's an example of one thing I've done, recognize the characters? Sorry about the gif format, it kept saying the hpg was too big for some weird reason.

Well not quite all alone. Sadly, I've been gone pretty much all day so I haven't really been on.
As for other "Craftsmen" Pikarobo does some clay sculptures.
and I have have some polymer clay fun from time to time
I love spamming that about >:)
and right now I'm planning to carve a figure piece on a walking stick. I was planning to do it for the Royalty at the next SCA even I was going to attend, but another family member wants it since I was just going to give it away anyway
You sound like you've got more talent at sculpting than I do! I didn't used to be very good at it, but I experimented a few months ago and have been making clay charms. Some turn out pretty good, other times they're cruddy and would never see the light of day on my etsy. <.< I even made my daughter some butterfly wing barrettes. She's in love with them. I'm a bit shocked she hasn't broke them yet! Again, sorry about the gif, the include pic button hates me.

Nice work here, show us some of the others you've done.
That's right! I plan on working on tiny Dr Mario pills and putting them into a clear bottle charm I got from the craft shop too.
I've done some pac man charms as well.
Nah, I'm still pretty much a beginner when it comes to sculpting. and I seem to only be able to use polymer clay, I'm too rough for normal clays or pvc clay
So what do you use to make your stuff?

Sculpey, it's a lot easier to use when making jewelry. I've been dabbling in shrinky dinks but it's not as easy as clay. I've been smearing the colors when baking the plastic. >.<

Ahh, I myself have been using super sculpey. It is a bit more expensive but molds better and tends to be less chalky, more durable and crumbles less.
Sculpture for animation class FTW

The only sculpey I had issues with was the transparent stuff. It crumbles easily and is hard to knead to softness. Plus it looks terrible and NOT transparent when it's done. Worked nicely when I did the fingernail on the severed zombie finger charm I did but not so well for the Christmas Star ornament I tried tonight. Had to throw that right out. Looked like I used yellow puke or something. D: I think the technical name for what I use is Sculpey III or something.
I bought a small block to the transparent once..... but I accientally left it in my car and well... I learned if my oven ever stopped working, all I would have to do is leave it in my car and the Phoenix sun roasts all...
but after some research on some tuts, I found that if your good with hot glue it was just as good at making transparent pieces on finished pieces, I also learned to cast clear resin.... it was a wonderful time :D

I've seen some really good resin projects, but I'm not sure where I'd buy the supplies. Plus if I pick up another hobby my husband might kill me. lmao He knows I want a hot glue gun though, so that's right up my alley. I saw a cute one at Michaels(yes, I care that it's cute, I am such a girl! XD). Hot glue probably wouldn't mix well with clay though, which is something I was trying to do. I read on a site I googled that you could mix transparent with colored clay to get the right look you want. Either I'm doing it wrong or that's a lie. lol
And I know the woes of leaving something out to be destroyed. I bought glitter clay so I could make more butterfly barrettes for my daughter. I had to order it online because I couldn't find it anywhere near me. Two hours after the box arrived I realized the clay was missing. I couldn't find it. A week or so later I found it and it was all dried out. It became rubbery. >.< This wasn't sculpey though, it was specifically jewelry clay from some other company. My daughter is the destroyer of worlds. <.<
Crafts rule.
I enjoy the occasional sculpt in various clays for varying purposes. An airbrush assault typically ensues.
There was a windy storm a while back and I saved two thick bits of a tree that fell that had to be diced and trashed. I thought I'd be totally original and carve some faces ^_^
For tools to attack this project I have a Dremel rotary tool and a face shield. I know the shield will do good, but I'm not certain if my Dremel can handle the job.. anyone attempt such a feat? Willing to share tips'n tricks?
Also, Kinsei01, is 'balsa' wood a good wood to carve sculptures out of?(In your opinion, if you know) Wood carving has been something I've been very curious about..
When I require a walking stick someday, I'll have to make it awesome. And eventually I'll need to sport a cane with a mosquito stuck in amber too. =D

That would be sweet to see some progress shots of.

I plan on using my dremel on the walking stick too, but I'm using chisels to block out the major parts and the dremel for fine tuning. as for advice, I have used both battery powered and cord dremels and I like the cord better since it seems to have more power, not to mention the one I have has the speed adjustment where my cordless did not. My only beef with my corded one is it is a bit heavy, and I don't have the light weight hand tool attachment.(But I want one >:D)

To be honest I don't know much about wood when it comes to carving, I'm pretty new to it myself. So far I have only done a couple of projects and this walking stick one is probably my most ambitious. I Started getting the rough design in today, I took photos so I'll get them up once I get a little farther along.

I'm not much into wood but if I remember right from woodshop balsa wood is that thin stuff they give you for small projects right? I think if you're planning to carve balsa wood wouldn't be a very easy thing to use. It easily splits with an exacto knife left alone a power tool! But that's the small fry stuff they gave us in high school, I'm not sure how big balsa gets and if the bigger stuff would have the same issue. Good luck with your project! I love hearing when people reuse old junk to make it into something new. :D

It's one of two that weren't food related. :P Here's a food one. Mint chocolate chip ice cream cone.
Well I've only tried sewing a doll once. It's about three feet tall and it's of Totoro. Did it for my friend's twenty-first birthday.
I've been in the process of wood carving, and making a few of my own clothes (some vests, hats and pants) among other crafty

That is awesome! I can't sew worth a crap. Even fixing a rip in fabric is hard. My daughter was thoroughly upset that I did such a crappy job sewing the rip in her favorite toy.
Oh yeah, those actually are kinda hard, I think making dolls and whatever is easy it's just hard when you see the final product and don't know how it got to that point!
I have three doll-worthy characters I started making dolls of but then I kinda stopped for no raisin

The only sewing I ever did that turned out right was a pillow in middle school. lol But those are insanely easy once you know how it's done.

Only if you make them into redicuosly awesome shapes :D
The best candle making I've ever done was grabbing a bunch of different colored, different scented wax cubes and melting them together to make almost a candle mosaic, and stuck a wick down the middle :/

Yeah it does. I used to work for an arts and crafts store and that was one of the big craft hobbies. I've never tried it but I'd really love to. I love scented candles but they're so expensive!
