Well that did nothing. i think its a glitch and i need to re-install TGF2.
Are you giving the dialog box the right location of lame_enc.dll once you've got it installed?
This time when i hit build it didn't pop up and i checked and it has sound now.

Just got through the tutorial. Pretty painless, thought id struggle being mostly art minded. But the conditional statments make sense and reminded me of the early tell target days of flash

I want to add music to my flash so i downloaded a song from the audio portal and i went to the events editor and i made it so it would play the song at the start of the frame but its not playing, it says its on there buts its not working.
Can you please answer the following...
A. What song file format is it?
B. What are you conditions and actions for the music event?

This happened to me when I tried MP3. I just used audacity to convert the audio portal song I used to WAV and then used the "Play and Loop Sample" option to add the song.

In what? the games factory 2 or the folder with audicity?
Open the program called Audacity, open the mp3 file from inside Audacity. Click file -> Export to WAV.
Wtf its doesn't open. when i click on it it quickly opens command prompt then exits out of it.
This is just great for animators like me! This will never replace actionscript, that's for sure, but with a little creativity it can be great.
I have question. If I have a few animations done in flash, for example, a runnig cycle, and i want to add it to my game, what's the best way to export it to use it with the program?
Thanks!

Looking for people who plays Fifa 08 :(
If you generate a AVI with your Flash editor, then you can import into a TGF Active object and it will break it down in to the individual frames automatically, Hope that helps!

This is audacity. LAME is not.

AWW FUCK! Did I just download a god damn virus?
I have a quick question. How would I go about having a music loop continue from one frame to the next without starting over?
Go to "Runtime options", under "Sound options..." Check the box "play sounds over frames"
If you are copying frames, remember that you must delete "start of frame: play music" in the frames prior to when the music is activated. Otherwise TGF will be ordered to play the music again, and it will reset.

Ah thanks :D. It all makes sense now.
This is a really compelling program and I haven't even started it yet (downloaded).
Depending on how I take to it, this might become a Christmas break pursuit, heh.
Also, I really appreciate the Clickteam people keeping a close eye on developments and answering questions... it must be pretty cool for you guys to interact so intimately with a highly relevant and active userbase! This kind of stuff must be exactly what Tom was hoping for when he envisioned the collaborative potential of this site.
Thats why we thought Newgrounds was a natural partner in the battle to promote creativity!

No you did not. You just confused one program for another.

Just went through the tutorial... it's a wonderfully intuitive program! I was able to switch from a mouse controlled player to a keyboard controlled and fix a minor "glitch" (player no longer had a defined movement area because it was '8-directions' setting) with no trouble at all. It's quite obvious to me how you would add bonuses and power ups and new levels to the classic breakout game, fantastic!
I'll definitely give the full version a whirl once I muck around with this one and see what tricks I can come up with. Does the full version also allow conversion to .SWF or is that special to this NG version? Also I noticed the music play event wasn't available even though the tutorial asked me to put it in - another full version perk? :)
I saw the price quoted earlier, does that also include the MF2 software or just TGF2?

Reread thread, self answered these questions :)
So I got a little ambitious with my first game. Do you guys have any tips on lower the file size of your games. I tried to remove any excess music/sounds files I could and tried to keep it minimal, but it's still a quite a bit over the 10mb size limit.
My first thought was to try and lower the kps of all the mp3s, but whenever I tried to lower it to 96kps or lower it would error when I tried to export it. Any help is appreciated :)
Please PM me, I would like to look at your MFA
