Okay, we are having a dilemma, My friends naem is Ernest, but we are trying to figure out a plural to his name! So far weve come up with "Erni" (same rule for cactus - cacti) and Ernestusis

Why are you trying to make a name plural?

You don't do that. If you want possessive, you make it Ernest's. If you want to refer to a situation where there are tons of clones of Ernest, you use something clever such as "the Ernest Army."

I was going to put something witty here, but then I decided to just link to a random wikipedia article.
