I love Kanye. I love the writer/critic Rob Sheffield. But I thought it was an unspoken rule that no longer could anything be given a 5-star review. That usually denotes "classic status," and people might overreact to that.

I'm just in shock -- like I said, I love both of the people in question, the critic and the artist. I haven't heard of an album getting a 5-star from Rolling Stone in forever.

I know some people don't like Kanye because he had some dick moves in the best, but he is widely regarded as a great talent in his genre. It is that guys review and he can give him whichever score he wants to. It is a simple review by one man, and not the final say-so in an albums worth.

Honestly music is one of the most contentious things to talk about people feel strongly about it (for some reason) don't pay attention to reviews and such just listen to what gets you going and ticks the boxes for you.

Also, I'd like to keep this topic on the subject of Rolling Stone's review on this CD. Or hell, their 5-star reviews. Last CDs I heard got 5-star reviews from this magazine was back in 2002 -- Beck's Sea Change and Bruce Springsteen's The Rising (Old geezers like the Boss. Who knew?)

Alright, since i seem to have diverted from the topic at hand, I'll give my opinion. Kanye sucks. He had one good song (gold digger) and that was it. Plus he's a douche.

Reviews are meerly opinions. I could say that Killer Clowns from Outer Space is the greatest movie ever and it would have as much credibility as someone saying Citizen Kane was the best.
i dont fucking care about rolling stone. i dont care about critics. All critics are biased. Finding an un-biased critic is damn near impossible.
ill listen to the singles put out by bands, ill listen to songs suggested to me by people who are interested in the same kind of music as me.
