How do you use sprites in flash cs3? I am thinking of a great sprite game, but I'm an idiot, so can you please help me on this.
-find a sprite sheet on google
-save the image
-in flash > import > to library > find your image and press ok
-drag the sprite sheet from the library to the stage
-click the image on the stage and press modify (toolbar up top) > bitmap > trace bitmap
-set the settings to 1 each (the smaller the number, the higher quality the image will turn out)
- delete the white (or whatever) background from the sprite sheet.
- now convert all the sprites to symbols.
He's the one that got me animating them!
I do advise you that if you're gonna be doing Mario or Sonic DBZ battles...don't bother.
Nobody here takes kindly to those flashes anymore.
Original Comedy or Action would be the way to go!
Hey, I really like Super Mario Bros Z, I'm still waiting for the next episode...
I also started with sprites movies, and I used to ripped them myself. I made every sprite a gif image so it didn't had a background and made them animated graphic animated symbols for some cycles like walking. I think is better to made them graphic symbols in order to watch the animation.
There are many websites with sprite sheets and tutorials of how to rip them from a game, so google "flash sprite movies" or something.
Las Vicaventuras.com Home of Resivic Evil, El Gamer Cosplayer and The LPW. Only parodies and funny stuff :P
So that's how to use the trace bitmap feature. Thanks bro! and Martie, I'm pretty sure that if Alvin Earthworm hasn't left newgrounds entirely, he's discontinued the series. His news is the same since sometime last year, and it's plugs for other sprite artists.
If he does intend to continue, he's not gonna be pressured into cranking out the next episode until it suits him.
Thanks to all that replyed. I'll give you a hint of what i'm making. It involves many series of games into one huge adventure/comedy/drama/EPICNESS.
Don't steal this topic i just reaveled a little.
PS. Anyone know a place to get great sound effects and music?
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!
Don't make SMBZ Ripoffs!
Everybody on Newgrounds hates them except for Alvin-Earthworm fantards.
If you want some REAL inspiration that isn't overused and cliche, try watching one of these guys' movies!
