Ok so i know this thread is probably going to be killed or something but i have a dilema.
I now have logic pro and i am somewhat unhappy with it. Its a great and complex program that has many, many plugins but my problem is, im not really having fun with it because its maybe just a little too complex?
I really enjoy making music and my favourite style is dance/electronic. I've heard that FL is much simpler and easy to use and is good for my style and that logic is mostly for guitarists. Are these rumors true?
Im still young and i mostly want to have fun with making music... should I emulate windows on my mac and get fl studio or just stick with logic....what should i do?

Those aren't rumors... at least the one about FL Studio being much simpler. I've never used Logic, so I couldn't say what it's better for, but yes... FL Studio is the easiest DAW on the market to pick up, but can still be a fairly in depth program, I.E., you can make professional sounding tracks with it if you take the time to learn the finer points of the program.
If you want to make music just to have fun, FL Studio might be a good place to start, it's fairly straight forward to learn the basics, but still gives you the tools to make more complex stuff. And the "entry" version of the program is fairly cheap in comparison to other DAWs out there... if, of course, you don't mind missing a few of the cooler features.

I made a thread a couple days ago with a really similar question. FL Studio is probably going to be much of the same. FL has plenty of plugins and things you'll have to learn all over again, so it won't be an easy switch. If you were going to switch programs I'd make sure you have a really good reason why because you'll have to learn all over again how to do what and where with the program.
In my personal experience, switching programs for music creation is a bitch. Just my two cents though...what do I know? =)
Just fyi, prepare for assholes to reply saying you're a moron for saying the program is too complex, and that you're lazy, and have no business making music at all. At least, I ended up with a lot of those replies. I really don't give a shit what anybody thinks though and neither should you though. Just keep doing what you're doing if you like it.
If you think the program is too complex, look up some tutorials. I know nothing about the program, but figuring out new features and ways to make sounds always motivates me. It's when I feel like I can't really do much that things get stagnant and remove the fun...
meh...hope this helps...

All daws are pretty much the same in functionality. Except perhaps ableton live and record, which are a bit quirky. I got really into Logic from day one since I had some experience with GarageBand. You could play around with that for a while I guess, and then when you've worked in the fundamentals of the workflow you can pretty much apply all that to Logic.

ive had logic for a year now so i cant really see myself going back to garage band....im trying to decide if i should go with FL because it seems easier to use than logic but has more features than garageband...

Ableton live would be a nice direction to go, if you learn the basics.

FL Studio has a fully function demo, so go see for yourself. (The only limitation is an inability to save projects.)

Agreed, once you learn the basics of it, Ableton is a really fun DAW to use. Or at least I think so.
