I know, but not as huge here as Walmart is in America. Just you wait, soon they'll shed this disguise and sell things at cheap(er) prices, thus one step further to a world wide monopoly!

They have already opened seven shops over here.
This too will pass.

As long as the Americans don't take our Argos then all is good.
Americanisation is a cancer that slowley consumes our planet.
their worshipping of sin will be the downfall of mankind.

Because of the erosion of individual culture and spreading consumer culture across the globe which is destroying our planet thus hastening our dooooom rabble rabble rabble.
Well I dont really care but this is what people would say against Americanisation.
I had a job interview there a while ago. Then I realised it wasnt worth it since it was way to far for me to travel :(

they sell american brand burgers in our supermarket (wich i <3) yet i still don't have a job! :/
democracy... meh. i'm not into theatre.

Meh, I'm a fan of globalization for the most part (I'm not a fan of all the coffee shops though); I like being self aware about being americanized, because it makes me seem smart but I still get to buy in to capitalism.
But seriously, fuck Best Buy, England needs some damn 7/11's. And that includes all the things that come with it. Cheetos, Hersheys, and proper fucking Mountain Dew! I'm tired of having to buy it on import just because it's not legal over here. And that edited down, PG-13 Mountain Dew Energy tastes like shit. It's the high fructose corn syrup that makes it so enjoyable!
Oh, yeah, and release Freaks and Geeks over here already! It's been eleven years now!

We live in a republic, not a democracy. If you don't believe me, go look up what a republic and democracy is and think about it. Is the United States really a democracy?

It starts to kill off English brand names, destroying the uniqueness of England. I enjoy being able to talk about buying Sainsburys cereal today because Tescos had too much of a line, and that I bought an iron from Sainsburys because I couldn't fucking find Argos while Americans can't relate. I like buying mobile phones and broadband from Carphone Warehous, maybe indulging in TalkTalk internet.
To Americans, "so what" right? After all, it spreads democracy (remember to swill your mouth out with bleach for me) and makes jobs. The types of shops are a sign of culture, and I'd still like to hold close English culture. Imagine if your Walmarts were replaced with Tescos, imagine if your internet and phone companies were things like Virgin, Vodafone and Orange, imagine if there was a shop you could go to for unbias information of the best mobile phone and internet you can get called Carphone Warehouse? There would be chaos if 2DTV or Splitting Image was shown on TV there, either that or no one would give a fuck...
This too will pass.

Hahaha.
oh wow.
I saw one in Birmingham a few days, I don't see any problem with it, it's a decent shop.
I've noticed more shops selling Mountain Dew aswell. It's hardly surprising that American industries are branching out in the UK of all places, they've been doing this shit in the Middle East for ages, and that definetly has a bigger impact over there than it does over here, if anything, we've already had the worst of Americanization, ever heard music from the charts recently?

Bring back Mountain Dew!
If it increases competition and keeps prices lower, while creating jobs, who am I to complain?
