Like I said, I have a ton of classic games.

Welcome! You should read what I told my other members in my posts above: Put a link to the club in your sig, only if you are willing to join. I don't have an official banner to use yet, so if you want one, you will have to wait.

Any of the games before the year 2000 are considered classic. So, I'd say yeah some of them are.

No. The PS2 was released in 2000. Therefore, it doesn't count as classic.

Hell, people are still buying and selling the PS2 because it was so popular.

I didn't remember it being released in the year 2000. Everybody was hyped about that Y2K bullshit.

Hell, people are still buying and selling the PS2 because it was so popular.

Are they doing the same with the PS1?

So, I recently downloaded Baseball Stars 2 from the Wii's Virtual Console and it is freaking off-the-wall. Have any of you guys ever tried a NEOGEO game before? They're beautiful. Probably the best sprite work you'll ever see from a 90s game. No wonder Tom Fulp was so into the system...

I have a local arcade that has one of those cartridge-based neogeo stand-up consoles. I can play it for free, but I was never into any SNK game that much when I went to play it.

The sprite work looks amazing. I'm going to download it and try it out.

Guys, I got a question and this looks like the most appropriate place to ask.

Does anybody know if this is a reference to some old skate boarding video game or something?

It's a clip from the film Scott Pilgrim and it's been on my mind ever since I came out of the theater. I can't find that it's a reference to anything, but it seems a little bit weird to me if it is simply what it looks like.

Don't watch the clip if you don't want the film to get spoiled for you by the way (it's not a major spoiler though).

Me wants to join this! I'm going to put a link for it, on my sig. (The words.) I guess the Gameboy is considered classic. I have 2 gameboys. But, unfortunatly, the batteries leaked, and I can't use them anymore.

I've been playing lots of DOS games lately.

I was cleaning today and found my copy of One Must Fall: 2097. One of my favorite fighting games of all time. Anyone else played this?

I am a major retro gamer it's my LIFE not to talk about modern age console games. I recently beat Megaman 2 on the NES it's great stuff. Also I found a $40 Super Nintendo on sale at this market anyone think it's a good idea. Oh and because this club is up until post 2000 :) so pretty much the first five generations of video games? So the discussion in this group would be as old as Atari Pong to as new as Nintendo 64 games. If so HUZZAH!!

Also I got Double Dragon 1 and III they really are worth the money but Double Dragon III is terrible on 1 player.

That 3-D arcade game? That game was awesome. Oh and PS sorry for double posting people but there's been a lot of talk whether they can speak about certain systems and there games so I'll try to make it a little more clear.

First of all no talk whatsoever about the 7th or so on generation because Mariolynx (?) clearly stated that in the rules. For the 6th Generation only the early Sega Dreamcast games can be spoken about. For the 5th Generation a lot of the games can be spoken about except be careful with some of the later games they were released just after 2000. Fourth Generation and done is 100% clean of modern age video games.

I recently played and beat Ninja Gaiden 2 for the NES. It really wasn't all that hard. Though I still can't beat the first one, damn game sending me back to 6-1.

Sure you can join! Recently I've been playing the first two Zelda games for the NES and beat the first but have never completed Zelda II: Link's Adventure.

Well, look at my username, I think that tells enough about my interest for oldschool games. I collect everything from Nintendo, Sega and Atari.

Auz the video has been removed.

I'm sure it has been now :p

Basically it was one of the characters grinding with his skateboard down a long rail and there was a speed counter that went up to 321 km/h or something and then it blinked and the guy crashed to the ground (exploding in coins).

I was pretty sure it was some reference to a video game, because the film was stuffed with VG references, but later I heard that it might not be a reference really. Even though it might seem like something from Tony Hawk or some other skateboarding game. In the comic books I believe it says: "Too fast to live" at that point.

This rule sounds nice in theory, but creates some problems. For instance, is Conker's Bad Fur Day on the N64 not considered a classic because it came out in 2001? Some N64 games came out before 2000 and would be considered classic by that definition, but other games wouldn't. Shouldn't all N64 games be treated the same?

Wow that's a great plan. I always wanted to get one console from each generation but looking back on the old school consoles I had to get more and more. I love Double Dragon beat 'em up Double Dragon II was one of my favorite all time games. For the 3rd generation I got NES, for 4th I got Sega Genisis and 5th I got N64.

My Top score is 199390 points, I don't exactly remember how many lines that was, but if you can beats that number of points, you have probably beaten that number of lines.

Hey if anyone is a fan of the old Kings Quest games. AGD Interactive has remade the first 3. I think they did a really good job, classic point and click adventure. If you havent played anything like Kings Quest before I highly recommend giving the a try. Just google it and get the free download.
