When I put a sound into a frame and then test the movie it plays the sound before it even gets to the frame its surposed to play at, why does it do this and can it be fixed?
It's quite an issue with flash that's been around for years and I'm surprised they haven't fixed it. There are two ways I know of how to fix it (this is all assuming your sound is set to stream which it usually is in the case).
1. Record some silence, just one second or so, then put it on your timeline wherever there isnt any sound, set it to stream and loop. This way there is always sound being played and flash wont skip ahead.
2. Put your sounds in movieclips which can be tedious but also works well but is no good for if you are trying to sync stuff on the main timeline.
.
Improve the sound quality in the publish settings

I like the 2nd one, I put all my sounds in one movieclip in different frames and have it on a layer thats constant within the flash file, so at any given moment in the file I can gotoandPlay orStop any of my sounds :D
Putting sounds inside a movieclip is much easier to control.
Audio quality setting have a lot to do with any artifacts or breaking of audio.
