The only way for them to be making money is if they charge people more than it would cost for the people to actually pay the medical bill. It's like a casino, the house always wins in the long run, but there is an extremely small chance you will get more than you paid for by getting some terrible disease.
Society sucks, humanity sucks, life is pointless, accomplishments mean nothing in the long run, but being depressed about it wont change that!
jobs use to help provide health insurance.... now people have no jobs... so if people get seriously hurt... they have to pay an arm and a leg just to pay for their health.

The whole point of insurance is that it helps foot the bill if something abnormal happens. It's as a protection measure. The whole idea is that not everybody who gets insurance is going to use it very often. So even if somebody does cash in on it, other people will spend years paying without ever really needing it. It's not even a matter of getting a terrible disease. It cost's thousands of dollars just to stay overnight in the hospital. Many people would prefer paying smaller sums repeatedly as opposed to a huge lump sum of money.
For every one person with a hospital bill, there's millions who don't have a bill, but still pay the premium. That's how they make money.
I'v been getting free healthcare since I'v been born just because of the NHS in the UK. How exactly can that be a bad thing for people? I do realise that these things aren't totally "free", but I do know that because of the NHS we have a healthier nation with a lower percentage of poverty at a diminished cost for most people.
This Sig was removed for being too uBeR
My daughter spent 6 days in the hospital without any real care or treatment and so on. They forgot she had health insurance and they sent me a bill of no less than 2000 dollars. I reminded them she had healthinsurance and the new bill read not mre than 20 dollars.
That's like 1 effing percent of the whole.
Health Insurance, I am a fan.
