The simplest way would be to get a mic of any kind and plug it in to audacity and the rest is obvious.
There are other ways but they cost money, ALOT of money at times

Audacity is free, but do you think audacity will have the same capabilities as say: adobe audition?

Recording can be expensive due to the cost of the equipment, such as external sound cards and such.
Yes buying a microphone-
plugging it into your computer-
and recording into audacity, Is the most simplest option, but its not the best in terms of quality...
Once again price becomes an issue if your looking for High quality sound recording with a mic, because then you will need and Expensive Microphone and more than likely an external receiving system (Like a Mixer).
I record my piano via Midi-USB plug from my Laptop to my Electric piano.
That way, It depends on your software as to how high the sound quality and clarity can get to.
Hope this helped.

Google is hard, 3rick, it really is.
Firefox just let me type 'audacity' in the url bar, and it took me straight there. Please try to at least give researching something by yourself a go, people aren't always going to do everything for you.
