Not only that but it also angers me.
The little girl is crying and is very upset. She really doesnt want to jump in the pool but the guy just keeps on nudging her and she pretty much knocks over in to the pool with no help.
I would make a joke about that, but that guy sucks.

I think there's a way to teach little kids to swim that involves just tossing them into the water. Since the human body has some memory of how to swim in the womb or something like that. These people were doing it wrong though.

After a bit of googling, I found out that that can only be done when the child is just a few weeks old. It would then lose the reflexes necessary to swim naturally. Either way, those people did it wrong. That kid is at least a year old.

Yes, problem here.
This isn't what happens at all.
When babies are in the womb, they don't breath at all. In fact, there is minimal blood circulation through the lungs due to a shortcut in the circulatory system. All the oxygen they need is coming from the mother. After birth, that 'shortcut' is closed quickly by a form of connective tissue called Wharton's jelly, the same shit that makes up the umbilical cord.
When a very young child is exposed to water, they will instinctively HOLD THEIR BREATH. They do not have fucking gills, they can't breathe underwater.
Since an infant no longer has an umbilical cord to supply oxygen, they will eventually drown when low oxygen levels tell their brain to breathe.
HOWEVER. All of this breath holding business is instinctive only when the child is very young. This kid looks to be a year or so, and is past that period of time.
If this isn't child abuse, it's at least a very good case of being a dick.
And no, this is not me being racist, it's me applying my knowledge of what the fuck they are doing to a child.

There weren't any YMCAs back in the day; I'm sure parents teaching their children how to swim didn't do much to protect their child from the risk of drowning.
probably about as much as what those people did..though my arguement is irrelevant considering this is modern times. Ethically, it's rather cruel, but it isn't hard to understand why they choose to teach her that way; who are we to judge what's socially acceptable?
Also, she never appeared to be in any real danger; they were giving her a rather basic experience of swimming, and they were there to make sure nothing bad happened. If something did happen, they'd be held responsible, but no one died.
