By this I mean a standup cabinet with joystics, buttons, trackballs, or a mixture of those. No ride simulation crap.

Yeah I love them, I got caught up in a game of galaga not too long ago.
It's sad to see so many arcades shutting down.
Generally when I'm at an arcade I play the shooter games. Things like Time Crisis and House of the Dead. Arcades are great places, but the machines are just too expensive to make them worth visiting. Not to mention, I don't think I actually have a decent arcade anywhere local to me.

I know. I think that arcades are shutting down because of the home consoles.
Sometimes they shut down because of stupid reasons, though. there's this one arcade that shut down because of an ancient anti-pinball law.

I went to one too weirdly! For the first time in a long time...I played millipede and got pretty far
Playing the game on the original arcade, the way it should be. All those wasted quarters ^___^

I remember completely beating the Simpsons Arcade Game at my local Family Fun Center back in the day. That was an hour and a half well spent.

I was born in the mid '90s and I still like the '80s arcade games.
I even have an X-Arcade Tankstick, which I bought for about $200.
btw, anyone ever heard of Crystal Castles?

2 bucks for like 20 seconds of gameplay is kind of a deterrent, isn't it?
Sigs are overrated.
yeah i have played it at the old arcademachines at the cinema
The best games at arcades are the Gauntlet games, fuck I love that shit.
Yeah, whatever.

Now that I think of it, I can't find the original Pac-Man at all. I instead always find Ms. Pac-Man.

Lol. Where I am, there's an arcade that has a bunch of paid arcade machines that are ride simulators, skiiball, Chuck E. Cheese type stuff, but there's also an area in the back of the store where there are all these free-to-play classic games. They have an original Pac-Man machine and a hacked Ms. Pac-Man machine. The hack is that she runs twice as fast as the ghost.
They also have a Galaga machine, but it was in the room where birthday parties are held, so I couldn't play it. :(

There's a guy a couple of miles down from where I used to live that had all kinds of arcade machines set up in a garage. He used to open it up to the public on Saturday. He even rigged all the machines to take pennies.
The pennies I wasted playing Galaga. Oh, the money I wasted playing Galaga.

lol.
I love the classic arcade games.
That's why I love that my local arcade has some for free.
I feel sorry for anyone who doesn't have a local arcade like that.

Gauntlet is boss! if i remember right then its an RPG game?
I go here once a year.
It's like Christmas 3.
Christmas 2 Comic Con. Christmas 1 is that sh*t about Jesus.
Arcades are basically dead here. You get places like Chuck E Cheese which are similar, but obviously not the same.
Arcade games themselves are common, all over the place like in stores, but a collection of awesome games is extremely rare these days. It's a shame.
Yeah, I played the original Ms Pac-Man in a GameWorks last year. There's a section with some classic games like Mario Bros and Donkey Kong, but I haven't played those...
Still, I'd like to play those oldies when I return there.

Nope.
Crystal Castles is a cult classic trackball arcade game. It's awesome!
