So I'm sitting here not really scared by the movie, but kind of into it. All of a sudden I get a text message and I just about jump out of my chair. Ironically it was from my friend, who is also watching the movie, stating how he doesn't think that camping out in tents is too great of a zombie survival strategy.

They're pluses and minuses to that I suppose.
Pros:
-mobile
-easy to carry
-doesn't take up a lot of space
-can camp anywhere
Cons:
-flimsy
-doesn't offer protection against a horde banging down your door
-not good in bad weather
I guess it depends on the situation that you might find yourself in.

The comic book podcast I listen to has been talking about this since forever and a half.
I think it was announced at least a year or so ago.

Once is enough for me, I can't stand regular TV to begin with. When we're dealing with zombies though, well I'm more inclined to watch it.

The Pilot was done so well. I didn't read the comics, but the visuals and acting were superb. I can't wait to see more next Sunday!

The first episode was amazing. I liked how they started to form the main character, i think his name is Rick? The whole idea of waking up from a coma and zombies being everywhere is scary as hell.
If i'm not mistaken, I heard this was based off of a comic book so i will definitely have to check that out. The show's effects are just amazing though, from the blood splatter to the zombie's makeup. Everything looks like they took their time to make it look just right.
While watching it feels like you are watching a movie too which is really awesome. If each episode is an hour and half like this i don't know how the show can be any better.
See you guys next week if everyone in the thread plans on continuing posting every week it's on.

I'm super glad I (actually my sister) found out we have AMC (I guess I misread the site or something).
I thought it was really good. The part with the guys wife coming up to the door freaked me out (the other part towards the end made me quite sad).
My sisters actually screamed at some parts. I think it is really good. Intriguing story, suspense and awesome zombies. I'm seriously looking forward to more.

Being from Atlanta, I recognized all the buildings immediately in the Atlanta skyline which immediately caught my attention to this show. When he said he was going down 85, he was on a two way street, not 85. I guess since it would be pretty impossible to shut down 85 for a film op. Even some of the back roads from the pilot I recognized. I'm too lazy to go look this up, but it looks like a lot of it was filmed in Marietta and the Loganville area.

Only thing that's gonna be pissing me off is the people who are all into the show but haven't read any of the comics... I'm an original fan and I'm proud to say that, people being into it and not hearing of the comics shouldn't bother me but I know it's going to... My dad already bitched cause the beginning was similar to the 28 Days Later movie, coming out of the hospital and all, and I just basically flipped shit on him, comics came out before 28 Days Later as far as I can remember.. Lol.
Yeah, whatever.

I had never even heard of the comics and I quite enjoyed the show. I'm going to make an event of it and have friends over and everything. Does that make you mad? I mean I can see how it would, with it effecting you so directly and everything.

Was the first episode the same as the leaked pilot, or was the pilot a never intended to air sort of thing like what happened with the leaked True Blood one where they recast everyone for the main series?
I watched the leak and enjoyed it, and I'll keep going with the rest of the series.

I don't think you understand what I really meant to say.
The only reason I'm gonna be mad is because of the stupid kids at school who will be constantly talking about it like they know everything and they literally won't shut the fuck up about it, it's already starting to happen less than 24 hours after it aired. Is it making me mad? Not entirely, but it's making me wanna tell them all that they haven't even read the comics, blah blah blah.
Obviously I'm not gonna get MAD but it does bother me.
Yeah, whatever.

It was badass, I totally ignored my girlfriend so I could watch this bitch.
but mind you it's still made for tv, so it's not movie quality.
Don't expect avatar or whatever.

Am I the only one that felt bad for the horse?
Put yourself in it's place.
First you get jacked from your home. Then some guy you don't even know climbs up on your ass and rides you all the way to Atlanta. Then said guy rides you into a zombie mob and just fucking leaves you there to be eaten.

I freaking love this show already. >:O
I am thinking the black guy is toast, since he's playing target practice out of his shittily boarded up safehouse.

The black guy is always first to go.
But honestly, why the hell are you gonna start shooting zombies out the window of a virtually unprotected house.
