I agree. If he shows up I hope he'll have the same amount of relevance as the comic.
Daryl makes up for every difference imo. Though I can't see him surviving long :(
Eh, I'm pretty sure he is a lot of people's favorite. We should see him for a season or two more, if you ask me.
Although if you're right, an "I told you so" will be in order.

Yeah, looking in this thread I see a lot of users like him too. Which is great and all but I think if any character is more LIKELY to die (forgetting canonical deaths in the comic series when they happen) then it'll be Darryl, because he isn't canonical. If that makes sense to you. At least, this is how I see it. He's got 'expendable' written all over his character once we find out about what happened to Merle.

I think they were actually in the first two episodes, but who cares.
I mean, they chose to stay in their home in a neighborhood FULL of zombies. C'mon, that is ridiculous. I do admit they had a nice little set up with all the windows blacked out and all. You just have to ponder what the heck is the man thinking wanting to stay there?
You literally can't do anything at night without a massive horde instantly spotting you.

Oh yeah, I know what you mean. Like, "if he's not true to the original storyline would it really matter he was biter food in two episodes?"
SPOILER.
Kind of like Shane being still alive.
Whoa, did I just say THAT out loud!

I imagine a lot of fans of the show like him too, which could put the writers in a tricky situation of just how long can they, or SHOULD they keep him alive for. But considering, as you mentioned below (Shane), they're obviously not afraid of changing and cutting things here and there. So who knows for sure?

Lol.
Best decision they've made on the show imo. Great for drama, plus I can imagine a little Shane/Lauren action again sometime. Do not like the Shane/Andrea thing. Just felt like they were put together for the sake of putting them together. Sort of like "Well they're both young and hot, so I guess they should hook up."

It's better that way, imo. Every episode is new-ish and gives me something to look forward to, but it is still faithful enough to the comic for me to be like "Oh my god, oh my god, I know what's going on."

I thought it was ridiculous. And on that note, I hate how Andrea is so cold to Dale.
That is the one thing changed from the comic that has really bothered me.

It's never too late!
I actually forgot about Season 2, or cared not to remember as the finale was disappointing imo. But I watched all the season 2 episodes thus far in 2 sittings. It was beautiful.

I agree. it's like, you know they're going to get from A to B, but in between there will be bits and pieces that may not fit the comic route but don't change where the end goal is. Its good viewing.

I think that is going to be a slow build up for those two. Probably looks better on tv not to rush such an age different relationship. Maybe.

The Andrea of the comic books is significantly younger than the Andrea of the show. Maybe her relationship with Dale will be fully explored later in the show, and it would be "wrong" to show on tv a full relationship (sex included) between a young girl and a really old man.

Imagine if Andrea was as young as she is in the comic books, it would be grosser for most people.

Sure it's "gross," but that was kind of the point.
It's at the end of the world, which changed their perceptions of "attractiveness" to someone they really cared about.
i.e. The social norm didn't really apply anymore, so they could get with someone they really loved.

Aww man, I'm all caught up, now, and I hate it. Now I actually have to wait a week to watch one episode at a time. At least there's also Hell on Wheels.
On the subject of Dale, I don't want him to die, but there are characters I care about more, like Glenn, Maggie, Rick, Lori, Carl, and Daryl.

I should imagine they'll find her before the hiatus. It'd make sense really. No idea where she is or who with as this isn't canonical. Heres hoping she's with a certain fellow named Tyreese..
SpoilAH! SPOILAH
INB4 AMC Screws up Badass black girl whose name I forget that has a Katana and those two zombies that didn't bite and gets it on with Ty (Ty's rampage was awesome in the prison though).
END OF SPOILER
Anywhoo's Anyone else think that this season is pretty bad? I'm really finding American Horror Story much, much better and I'm only 7 episodes in. Srsly American Horror Story > The Walking Dead
Maybe it's because of the Budget cut? Who knows..

I still am liking this season actually. I'm enjoying the slow pace and exploring of characters.
I also need to catch up with American Horror Story. I watched the first episode and was a bit wtf but its interesting, a different kind of interesting.

TIS A SPOILAH MON!
So instead of Shane dying from Carl in the beginning of the comics, he's going to die by going insane later this season? First GOOD episode of The walking dead in awhile.

It doesn't happen like that in the comic. Sophia never gets lost and is still alive up until I left off (I'm only 7 issues behind).
Speaking of the comic, the reason I'm such a fan of it how much of a visceral reaction I get from the story and characters. There are so many moments in the story that just make me feel awful. I didn't think the show could ever match that feeling I get from the printed version, but after tonight, I can saftely say I was wrong. The reveal at the end was show so perfectly and drawn out but I couldn't but moan in agony until the credits started rolling. This is what I call good drama, it has to put me through agony.

Watching The Talking Dead at the moment, which is pretty good for gaining some insight behind the scenes. The host however is a bit...hard to describe? I like him and hate him at the same time for how he acts and it doesn't help at all that these are all recorded live.
Either way, you should all definitely check this talk show later on some time. Not sure where but I bet they have all the shows available online somewhere.

Highlights of the latest Talking Dead show for anyone who's interested:
Talking Dead host guy received Daryl's ear necklace.
Alice fucking Cooper calls the show. No joke.
The guy who plays Daryl is one of the guests on the show, along with the comics author and some other guy I forget because I'm dumb whateverrr.
The woman who plays Andrea calls the show.
AN ACTUAL FUCKING DARYL ACTION FIGURE (including dead squirrel accessories).
Behind the scenes for the walker turkey shoot at the barn and other cool makeup stuff for the little girl who plays Sophia.
Full hour long instead of 30 minutes.
So yeah, check that shit out. Wasn't as cringe worthy unlike the other Talking Dead episodes.
Also SHALE AND DANE.

Awesome mid season finale. It was the most intense and dramatic episode of this season.
I can't wait til february to watch the rest of the season.
