D&D Freezing Burst 2010-10-07 14:21:36 Reply

*breathes deeply, then prepares to get trolled*

OK, I just bought D&D, and im trying a solo Adventure *ive made a character*
and I dont understand attacking with "Freezing Burst".

It says - Attack: Intelligence vs. Reflex
Hit: 1d6 + Intelligence Modifier cold damage, and you slide the target one square..

How do I determine a hit and damage with this? I dont understand the attack tag, if it means what i think it does, i dont even need to roll! (enemy reflex 14, my int. is 18)

Please help me!

Fuck it. Does D&D mean Dungeons & Dragons? I have no idea how that game works, only the board-playing game.

Would help if you specified what edition you're playing.

you're right

higher int would win in that case and then you do 1d6+int mod of dmg, then slide the enemy

you can give the enemy a saving throw i suppose, depending on how you play

first you have to roll a d20,the resulting rool will be added to your INT modifier+half lvl.which assuming you're lvl 1 would be 4 added to the result of the d20 roll.the number that results from adding your modifier and roll is then compaired to the enimies reflex.if your total roll is greater then the enimies reflex you hit if not you miss and go on to using your minor and/or move actions if you didn't use them already.appon a hit you would then rool damage which for freezing burst is a 1d6+int modifier.that is pretty self explanitory

i hope the info i gave helped

Ask here https://boards.4chan.org/tg/

Dont worry, they dont bite. Theres probably nowhere better on the internet for 95% of non-video games than here.

well 4.0 oversimplified everything, 3.5 had a lot of space for original worlds and stories whereas 4 was pretty much one homogenized world. my girlfriend and her ex have their own 3.5 world called DMF, and it has its own religions, gods, heroes, places- apparently you just can't do that with 4.
and i'm not aware of 5, if someone has used it i would very much like to know what it's like.
