MMA game input needed. 2010-10-07 03:22:21 Reply

I was not sure where to post this.
In games are here
( Im old School so im used to game related things going in Flash Forum)

So right now we are working on a flash based MMA game.
It is set in a style of the old school arcade style brawlers.

So expect very fast past, arcade style game play.

With that said, The game now is under the title "The Big Kabosh"
(hard core fans will recognize that name from "The Voice" catch phrase)

Right now I am in the stage of development...(design is done)
So it is a perfect time to take ideas and feedback for the game.

As of now the game has these main features:

Commentary:
Voice acting the play by play as it happens in the game.
(same commentators as in Stone Gliders)

Create a fighter:
Create your look, Gear, add sponsors, name and nickname.
Also your country and music you want to come out to.

Stages:
Cage, Ring and even the Yamma pit will be included.
Along with size and and style,
From local shows in bars, To grand arenas. (expect to see the Newgrounds arena used as the premier arena, same that will be used in Stone Glider)

Styles:
Boxing, Kick boxing, Muay Thai, Wrestling, Ju Jujitsu and so on will be represented as styles.

Stats:
From doing good in fights, to training mini games.
Add stats and attributes to your fighter as you play trough the game.

Fighters:
Both men and women classes.
It would not be MMA with out female fighters included.
----------------------------------------
----------------------------------------
---------
With that said let me give you a over all lay out on how the game will go.

You start by creating your fighter.
After that you will start in a gym to learn the basic controls.
As of now we are trying to keep the controls as simple as possible.
The game is designed for use with joytokey (controller) but keyboard inputs will look like this:
A- Left/Jab
D- Right/Straight.
S&W - Block/Spraw
Q- Left kick/Leg kick/Knee
E- Right kick/Leg kick/Knee
F- Clinch
Space- Take down/Submissions.

Arrow keys will control the fighter, With up and down changing strikes from low to high, And blocking low and High.

The game will be in 2D and a example would be close to the old Sega games "Greatest heavyweights" Or Evander Holyfield's real deal boxing" with crazy effects and special moves.

Right now the game will feature only generic fighters but im hopping to get the permission to use a certain female fighters name.. So please do not request actual fighters. (i'll try get who i can, but dont expect any real names)

anyways, MMA fans, Fight fans, please post any ideas or input you would like to see for this game.

And yes we are trying to push the limits of Flash games, So we will work hard to cram as much in as possible to the game.

Make sure the screen rumbles when you get a critical punch in...
That's all I can think of.

Hmm, and blood.
Oh, if possible, put a sparring option under the training section.

Good idea, can't wait ^.^

Ohhh screen shake with big hits!
I like that idea, dunno how that never came up.
That will be awesome and we can do that.

Blood will be in the game.
A sparring partner is pretty good idea.
maybe have it do specific moves the user can set, so you can practice certain things.
Like clinch, take down defense. Subs etc.

great idea guys. Love em.

keep em coming!
