Used to really like anime. As I've gotten older I have started to kind of hate it. It's all pretty lame and predictable. I'd rather read/watch something from the west

Hate the translated American versions because their so cheesy.
In most cases the American dubs are quite accurate. The jap dub is just as lame. You don't speak the language so you can't pick up on how lame it really is.

I usually like anime. I like some anime music. Sometimes, though, the constant "kawaii"s and "OMG JAPANESE > AMERICAN" of the fans gets on my nerves.

ZOMG POKI STIX! Kawaiiii! ^___^
I can see how that could be annoying. I just distance myself from those kinds of fans. I like some anime from time to time, but the whole weeaboo culture is just something that I can't understand.
supposed weeaboo goddess...

Only popular because of those tits. She's annoying as hell.
I've watched some anime, all of the ones I've seen are great though. Cowboy Bebop is probably my favourite.
It's definitely one of my favorite means of entertainment.
Hentai is awesome as well, nowhere else could I see some chick grow tentadicks and go on a rampage in Tokyo city.
Also Lolicon for the win.
Anime is SHIT. It is of the DEVIL. Those goddamn Japs are trying to brainwash our children and make them run planes into the white house because Showa Tenno Banzai!!!!
I have always been fascinated by anime, because they always seemed more detailed than American cartoons. We were lucky to have some really decent shows that could compete with anime, like "Avatar: The Last Airbender". I appreciate it as much as I appreciate any other form of entertainment, be it western animation or live-action TV. It is great how the Japanese use animation as a form of art.

I enjoy anime. I am not one of the people who constantly run around shouting random japanese words and stuff like that, though.
I have to tolerate it because my girlfriend likes it, and she hangs out with those "pretend to be crazy by saying LOLRANDUM stuff and cussing in places and ways that are inappropriate in the given situation" anime weirdos that finger themselves over some spiky haired pussy that isn't even real.

I like anime. It's like an alternative to tv, and I don't watch any tv. Plus, it allows me to follow a pretty linear story most of the time, which is just something I don't get in American tv.
Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom
Full Metal Alchemist
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzimiya
And there's tons of other ones out there.
Ouran Host Club
And there's tons of other ones out there.
And those are about the only animes I've watched. I normally go for serious animes, and I don't really like the silly ones.
At first I (jokingly) laughed at my friends for watching such heresy, then eventually I tried out Gurren Lagann. I was not disappoint. It had kick-ass people in kick-ass robots doing kick-ass things. Another thing I noticed is that more is "acceptable" over there so the creators have a more to work with than if it was an American based show ( can't speak for Europe since I don't watch their TV), but for those skeptical about anime, I suggest finding one that has some good ratings, take an evening and watch it, but more than likely it will be worth it.
Let's just say the english dubs (most of the time) and the fan obsession sucked.
I enjoy anime as much as the next guy but there's some people who actually wished Japan won WW2 due to this obsession.

I've always thought anime was the side effect of too many nukes.

Agreed, some is good some is bad. It's nothing to get hot and bothered about in my opinion.
It draws me in......i have to use sheer willpower to stop myself from watching it.......even if it's a retarded kids show, anything anime just draws me in.......
I love it, but I don't go crazy with it. It's a lot of fun to watch, and I'll check out any anime that looks good. But I don't see it as a superior or inferior form of entertainment. I just think it's refreshing and different. I love anything that's cel-animated because you just don't see that anymore with anything. It's all CG if it's not live action. It keeps the artform of cel-animation alive because it takes animation more seriously. Most of the time in America, if you think of cartoons you think of bunnies and kittens with celebrity voices. But with anime, there's a much more broad variation, sometimes it's serious, sometimes it's naive. You don't know what to expect. So yeah, I love it, I watch it, but I don't go nuts eating pocky while masturbating to Dragon Ball Z.
Damn, I hate Naurto these days it sucks because all they do is fucking cry and talk! Even if it goes to a fight I find that they somehow made THE FIGHTS BORING! Its sad because I grew up with that show.
I love anime, but I'm not a huge junkie nerd. I pretty much just watch the ones they show here in America on Adult Swim, such as Bleach, Kekkaishi, Fullmetal Alchemist, Inuyasha, Ghost in the Shell, Cowboy Bebop, Blood+, Death Note.
Bleach is my all time favorite, then Fullmetal Alchemist. I have actually been considering getting a transmutation circle tattooed on the palm of my hand. Damn it, maybe I am a huge nerd.
I enjoy anime. It is artistic, and usually full of meaning.
I enjoy otakus and their extensive knowledge of that which does not matter.
I enjoy watching endless debates about 'who would win in a fight'.
In short, I enjoy everything about it, but I do not love it.
Meh, I used to watch it more when I was 11 or 12. I guess you could say I grew out of it, but I have a few that I still like.
Samurai Champloo ftw 8)
I pretty much keep it on the down-low since the closest thing to anime most people I go to school with have seen is Dragon Ball Z (which I also love). Plus, I don't love it to the point I'll start watching Funimation like most of my friends do and talk about the shitty animes that play. Because it's so funny and awesome how overly perverted the characters act and look while fighting off some vampires/spirits/demons/etc.
