Hey everybody, I was wondering how to make a flash game/movie. If someone could tell me how then it would be great. Thanks

No. As in Macromedia Flash Professional 8. You need this program to make cartoons and games.

Flash 8 is like 5 years old. You should try and get a later version.

New doesn't mean better
CS5 fucking sucks
The only thing better than flash 8 is CS3 but that's only if you program.
Flash 8 really hasn't been beaten yet.

I agree, to some degree. I still use flash 8, but the version is late.
The new features are great, but aren't worth an update.

Off course much, eh?
What is the framerate and I assume you are making a Flash movie. If you don't wish to change the FPS then you could try doubling frames but, I am not the best person to ask about animating.

And you're implying it doesn't work?
As far as animating goes, newer versions don't bring a whole lot to the table. Yeah, theres the new motion tweens but Flash 8 will do for a beginner. Another factor is cost, not every has the money to afford newer versions.

New doesn't necessarily mean better but it can be for some.
CS5 fucking sucks
Thats a stupid thing to say. Neither necessarily "suck" it might not offer anything for you but for me the new file format increases save speed and stability under managing large projects, the code completion absolutely pales in comparison to just about any other programming tool ie TextMate but its still far superior in many ways script wise to flash 8 CS3 or 4. Also for programmers exporting to flash 10 is very important. Additionally I prefer the newer workflows/spaces, flash 8 and prior are great if you're used to software that holds your hand through the creation process and keeps everything locked in place but i like the extended freedom in CS5, but Ive got nothing against anyone who wants to stick with the original stuff.
so please, shut up.

I really hope this guy doesn't have a problem making a animation because none of you are helping. Your just ranting on about which version is better when someone asked you for help. What is that going to do?
Fucking Faggots.

This is complete nonsense, CS5 can do everything that 8 can do plus extra. In the context of technological superiority, both 'new' and 'better' are a direct result of the process of greater abstraction, seeing as time moves in one direction and all that.
You're a bit dim.

I haven't got or used CS5, but I know a couple of people who have and I've heard it has a much higher crash rate than 8. And lets not forget to mention how resource heavy Flash releases have been recently.
I think Macromedia were headed in the right direction.

Flash CS5 doesn't have much to make it worth the cost or the memory hog.
They emphasized mainly on programming, the only good things about it is the visual programming, and that new saving feature.
They didn't do anything big, to make it worth a whole new program, it should have been a little update. It's like making a new game and the ONLY new thing about it is maybe 3 new weapons. And the look.
Flash CS3 is a lot lighter, and perfect for beginners. Programming may be a bit harder without visual programming but it's not at all that huge of a deal. Which is why i say it fucking sucks, it has nice new things but not at all worth all that you have to give.
Their bone and 3D tool are still way too gimmicky and glitchy. Same goes for the new tweening. While it makes the regular tweening look very primitive, it doesn't work very well so we're still running back to regular tweening.
I've tried CS4 and CS5, both of them had me running back to CS3.

Here's the thing, the plus extra isn't WORTH IT. Flash 8 is light and has all he really needs, especially for a beginner. New doesn't mean better. More doesn't mean better. It'd rather have more that actually works very well. Instead of more that works half of the time, causing it to become a burden.
Don't try to sound smart by wrapping bullshit with big words.

So CS5 would probably be favorable to programmers. But they forsake the animating part too much when releasing a new version, which is why CS4 and CS5 are generally not favorable or recommended. I wouldn't be surprised if CS6 or whatever the new one is, only has...about 1 really new important feature, AS4 or something.
Now After Effects CS5, THAT actually has kick ass stuff.
