Why the hell is there going to be a holiday dedicated to this hypocritical moron?

Sorry PsychoGoldFish, Tom and Mindchamber, but I'm going to have to agree with Stamper here; making a holiday in dedication to this guy is idiotic.

He was in his 30's, he knew fucking better.

You might as well say "Go take drugs kids, 'cause that's what heroes do!"

As for his character Stick Slayer, what a loser; he starts a war with all the stick figures and ends up nuking humanity for it. Instead of defusing the nuke like he said he was going to do, he lets it detonate, lands on a plane to save his own sorry ass while everyone he was supposedly saving from the stick figures die.

He gets Pico and all his other subordinates killed & nukes the planet again.

OH! And he forgets to plant batteries in the nuke getting himself killed too. Nice.

This guy is an awful hero, the so called "select few who escaped his wrath" seem to be in the millions. So it's not really the select few, it was pretty much all of them.

Great fucking example of what Newgrounds is all about right? I mean a guy who kills himself with narcotics and his hypocritical criticism on stick figure animations with his own awfully animated flash series is totally what Newgrounds is all about.

This guy is a worse example to follow than Piconjo. Although Piconjo was a chronic liar, he at least wasn't a fucking drug addict.

If Ben Spurgin is your standard of what a holiday deserving NG hero really is, then we should have holidays dedicated to Cereal the Pig Fucker, Legendary Frog and Otomite Clock as well.

Well I was hesitant to post an opinion like this in the news post, but I guess I can come out and agree.

He ODed on illegal drugs. He fucked up. He really doesn't deserve any praise or pity for it.

Don't celebrate the holiday then dude.

This holiday will inspire others to overdose.

I toltally agree with you i have never heard of the guy before but i had a look at what he was about, and i have to agree that making a holiday for a scag head isnt the way forward. im probably gonna get told to mind my own and shut the fuck up but you were right! it should go to a vote.!!!!

while i agree that it seem like bullshit to celebrate somone who took drugs, and died because of an OD - that's not the focus, and shouldn't be the focus. his flashes should be.

however, it's difficult to get away from the fact that his tragic death DID include drugs.

It shouldn't matter how he died what matters is what he contributed to this site in it's early years and making one of the first great flash series here on NG.

What hypocrites,nearly everyone felt bad and sorry when Livecorpse commited suicide but just cause it involved drugs you have to bash this guy for dying on a heroin overdose,you don't know him or what he was about,you are just hating cause it involved drugs.

Contributions don't always have to take a material form. Judging someone's value based on the quality of their work has little to do with their impact on a community.

While I was not around during his time, it's pretty clear that Ben made a significant impact on a number of users.

And while I don't condone the use of certain drugs, please ... get real. The world celebrates a countless list of idols, icons, and heroes that had notoriously bad habits.

Hating a decent flash artist because drugs caused his death? That's pretty sad.
