You also have to realize he explicitly said no screamo, metal, or any genre ending in core. Which are my favorite genres. That music tends to be what i enjoy the most. My favorite bands right now - Underoath and blessthefall are both screamo, Killswitch Engage and Asking Alexandria are metalcore, Chelsea Grin and Suicide Silence are deathcore. Not OP's style. If you're interested in something new possibly, check out protest the hero. They may be metal, but they're unique.
