My laptop is just about two years old, and I expect it to be working just fine several years down the road.

How old is (are) your computer(s)?

Hmm... my dad buys a new computer like once every 2-3 years, but never throws away the old ones.

The newest is like about a year old, and the oldest is 7 years old. The one I'm using is about 3 years old. We have like... ehm... about 7 computers in our possession, in which 4 of them are dormant.

So in my house the average age of the computers are 3 years old. Nobody but my dad and (sometimes) myself uses the newest one (it's expensive as fuck).

Personally, we here use laptops... not actual desktops. We have 2 desktops (both dormant) and 5 laptops... and if we want to use it in a desktop format (with monitors, keyboard, mouse, etc) then we use a docking station. The laptop is portable, and is battery operated which makes it more desirable here (not to mention if the power goes off you won't lose your stuff if you didn't save it).

Besides, it's kind of pointless to buy a new computer each year and throw away the old one... think of the amount of trash you're adding to the environment... not to mention a waste of resources...

You've bumped this thread around a half dozen times. Let it die with dignity already.
