Would mods rather me bump an extremely old thread or just make a new one that is kind of / in a way similar? I mean it is Newgrounds, after all. Nothing is COMPLETELY original.
And what I had in mind relates to the time I have it in mind, not a few months ago (when the thread died that I want to bump)

It's really a judgement call. It's best not to bump a thread 3+ years old but if it's only a couple years old or less and has some significant content already put forth then i'd say it's fine to bump it as long as you are contributing.

best bet it simply PM a forum moderator linking to what thread you would like to bump and tell them what forum you're looking in.
In some forums, like Clubs & Crews, we expect you to bump the older threads but in General it's sometimes fine to make a new thread.
It's treated as kind of a case-by-case basis, so you should PM one of us with the pertinent info.

I'd like to add this link: Kerok's Guide To Bumping Topics. I don't know if it's current enough but I hope it helps.

To the best of my knowledge, nothing newer has been written about the subject (either on the BBS or anyone's blog), so it still stands as far as I'm aware.
