I'm pretty libertarian on personal rights, although dont get me started on Let people have their guns.
To be honest, who cares about these death counts. They are just statistics after all. Maybe the people whose family or friends died by PEOPLE with guns, otherwise, to them they are just statistics to further an agenda. Not saying this from any particular standpoint, by the way.
Someone should bring in statistics for knife deaths/injuries.
Look at it this way: If america is highest in that too, we obviously have a bigger problem huh? If not, its just going to show, people will kill people anyway.

No shit that America has more gun deaths. We have more population + more serious gang/drug violence due to having a higher population. Banning guns wouldn't really help though. Most of America's gun deaths are the result of gang violence, and it's not like they get their guns legally...

No matter what laws you pass, criminals will always have guns. Nothing is going to change that. So all of you hippies want to take away guns from lawful owners, even though the criminals will still have them. Are you retarded?

If you keep your guns secure, and follow the basic safety guidelines, then having a gun in your house is perfectly safe.

In all honesty, though, you should consider dead rates through violence overall. It's no use to say Germany has 381 gun deaths a year, whereas over 4000 get stabbed.

The main source (I assume) of gun violence is probably from people illegally getting guns, I think they should just focus on making guns harder to obtain and harder to smuggle or steal.

And if someone gets a dent in their criminal record and can't get a gun, then thats their fault and it's their fault if they get a rock thrown into their house at 11:00 PM and they get strangled soon after, course they could probably get an appeal or something if it was a minor felony on their record...I know very little about how the law works.

America is a very big country and like many other big countries has it's fair share of crime, unlike where I live in Australia we had less guns and a smaller population so I suppose it was a lot easier to get rid of...

Anyways, guns are bad, but criminals are also bad, so guns are a solution, but criminals and people who shouldn't have guns also get them which is a problem.

ONE last point though, what do you guys reckon if they just made self-defense guns weaker?

Where I live we have a crime problem. And humans are really stupid people.

So stupid that it only takes some drunk retard to go to one of his enemies houses, smash his window, then the guy in the house scares himself shitless, gets his gun out and shoots if the drunk guy comes closer.

Perhaps when guns are legalised and there is no control whatsoever, people can outright shoot each other. No punishment and trials needed, since the punishment can be delivered on the spot.

No, guns are a source of problems.
If nobody had a gun, nobody else would need one for safety. We could carry around knives instead, if we all had knives it would make more sense. Guns are bad. Sure, you might feel safe carrying one, hell you might even feel cool. But how safe is it really when you don't even have the balls to pull the trigger when you need to? Or you're too fucking stupid to take it off safety, then they realize you had a gun pulled on them and they fuck you up worse than they were going to and possibly kill you for that.

Guns are stupid, and I do want one.

Think of it this way... If he did have a gun and pulled it on the robber, it could have spurred a gunfight between them. Money and wallets are replaceable, your Dad is not. Insurance can replace material losses, the danger is not worth the satisfaction of stopping a crime with your own gun.

it is my understanding that guns dont kill people, people who want to kill people kill people. the gun, as itself, is simply a tool in which someone can be killed. its the person who has the final decison.

guns do play role in tragedies, im afraid. such as the columbine and various other school shootings. but that in itself was not the guns fault.

but as the topic goes. i think everyone owning guns would possibly lower crime rate. i know i wouldnt want to pull a breaking and entering when i know there packing heat.
