Flash submission more than 10MB 2010-09-08 08:31:11 Reply

Hi

I am about to make new toon, that most likely will be more than 10 MB in size. Now I saw that a movie, like Charlie the Unicorn (not that I am comparing my self with them) is 17MB large.

Are there any rules for, when the mods can make an exception due to the size of animation files?

Thanks for reading my topic

PM Tom and show him your finished toon, if it's good enough he'll allow a larger file.

#include <stdio.h>
char*p="#include <stdio.h>%cchar*p=%c%s%c;%cmain() {printf(p,10,34,p,34,10);}";
main() {printf(p,10,34,p,34,10);}

You will need to talk to Tom if you want to submit something larger than 10MB.

In the event that Tom doesn't aprove, you could try externaly loading the .swf. It can be confusing but try this link:

It should explain everything.

Thanks for the latest replies.

So how do I do this exactly? Do I send my swf to Tom first and see if he approves?

I'd like to know too. Do you upload your file on newgrounds dump? Do you email it? How do you send it to Tom?

Just upload your SWF to the Newgrounds Dump
Pm Tom with a link to the SWF file
Also make sure that the Subject Title of the PM states roughly what you want
And lastly, say please.
