Mine would be Dogs life and Star Wars bounty hunter, they are such good games with not much credit, they were really awesome games of it's time.
Also Zapper, Ty the Tasmanian tiger and Pitfall: The lost expedition.
Seriously, all those games were so freaking awesome yet some people don't even know they exist.
As for Dogs life, it had a very childish feel but it was really fun in it's time... Hell what other games allow you to do a turd, pick it up with your mouth and throw it at people!
Yeah, so tell me what classics you find under-rated and maybe even tell me about these games I mentioned.
I've never heard about those games. You got any links?
I think Yoshi's Story is/was underrated. I'm not too sure how well known it is around the world but I think it was overlooked. The gameplay is simple but it's really the graphics, music and how the story is told that make me like it so much. Also the yoshis stand up straight and look more normal then the newer Yoshis do.

To my knowledge (or just the area I'm around in) not too many people know about Mario Paint for the Super Nintendo. Which is a real shame.
Populous - The Beginning
It's one of my old favorite PS1 games. The only down side is that the control is a little hard to get into so i would recomand a computer version. But it's a truly great game that should be checked out.
Spongebob Battle For Bikini Bottom was actually a really well made gamecube game, except the parts wheere you play Sandy
Mushroomn. 6 years later it's kind of a dumbass name. Sorry about that
I still and always will say both Battalion Wars 1 + 2, both classics, both underrated, both ignored by most people.
Good.

Truely one of the best games I have ever played but I hate how it takes up a whole memory card.

I played that game ALL the time. Especially the little fly-swatter mini-game. As for the post before mentioning Yoshi's Story, I also played that game a lot.
For the N64, I think Perfect Dark was overlooked. Most people say Goldeneye was the only good FPS on the N64, but Perfect Dark was better in so many ways. I guess since Goldeneye pioneered the way, people think it's the best.
Arise to sky and set free - Release toward horizon
Off the top of my head...
PC:
Heretic: The prequel to Hexen, my favorite DOOM engine game.
Blood: Duke Nukem 3D gets a lot of praise, but IMO Blood was the best Build Engine game ever made.
Shattered Steel: Virtually unheard of BioWare mech game. Classic.
NES:
Metal Storm: Freakin' sweet side scroller with the best animation on the NES.
StarTropics: Action adventure by Nintendo where you use a yo-yo as a weapon.
SNES:
Demon's Crest: SNES sequel to the Gargoyles Quest GameBoy games. Epic.
The 7th Saga: Excellent RPG with the fatal flaw of nearly impossible battles agaoins your rivals.
Playstation:
Blast Chamber: Really fun party game.

Easily the worst launch title ever made, so no.

I got that game around release and to this day, I have no fucking idea how to play it.

Yoshi Story - Excellent Game, I beat it a few times on the SNES version and once on the DS version of it. I can never get enough of Yoshi... I love him. And I am a 21 year old guy now.
Mario Paint - Me and my brother would make little people in the paint shop and then stage little battles against each other, it was so much fun I really miss that. We both sucked at the fly swatting mini game though...

Eh, Battalion Wars was a cool concept, but I thought that the gameplay was a little difficult to grasp on to.

Same link.
Vectorman 1 and 2 were really underrated on the Genesis IMO. All the attention was focused on Sonic at the time, and it seemed like they completly forgot about Vectorman, and just about every other franchise on Sega's hands for that matter.
Just stop worrying, and love the bomb.
Psychonauts. It's the first game I've played through more than once.
.
Probably the best Indiana Jones game ever. You actually get to do all of the badass stuff that Indy did in the movies and then some.

I think I might still have that for GCN. I never really got into it, though, so is it worth going back to it now in 2010 purely on it's own merits as a game, sans nostalgia?
And speaking of nostalgia, the Marble Blast franchise is like the greatest fucking thing that nobody's heard of.
I used to have Marble Blast Gold on my old Mac, but it's gotten lost in the shuffle over the last 5 years. :( I put more hours into that game than I can count. I loved the levels, the concept, the music and sound effects, everything!
It's still around, as I've found out, too. Marble Blast Ultra is pretty popular on XBLA, and there's an iPhone version called Marble Blast Mobile which I just bought today. It's pretty cool, a lot of the old sound effects are still intact, while the visuals are actually very well done for an iPhone title. It even brings back a couple of my favorite levels from Gold, specifically the tornado and the roller coaster one.
And does anyone else remember Otto Matic?
A game... a game... OH! Knights of the old Republic was one. There was the Clone trooper FPS star wars game. THAT was friggin' awesome! Although I think the most underrated game I own is LAPD Future Cop for PS1. I loved the secret level. :3
"Oh God! Why are there so many wormies in meh base!?!"
This Signature is here to remind you when my post ends.
It's not very cool, though.

That game wasn't underrated at all. It was known to be one of the best Star Wars games made.

You mean the real-time Advance wars? Nah, I didn't enjoy it as much.
No matter what your weaknesses are, make sure your own abilities supersede them.
Star wars bounty hunter is probably my most played game on Ps2, I even spent hours replaying levels and messing around as if it was a sandbox game!
Also, I am not sure if this was under-rated or not but...
Toy story 2 the video game!
That game was pure awesome, it is proof that movie games can be good if they put proper effort into it!

I actually have it for the PC, I used to play it all the time but it wont work on this damn computer...

Totally agree
Jazz Jackrabbit 2.
I had a pretty great rampage on it's multiplayer a week ago.

You are correct. I was about to go in here and say that because I thought no one else would, but you have.
