Change in attitude towards antiques 2010-09-07 04:23:55 Reply

Well, I don't know how about you people, but when I was younger, my parents, just like the overwhelming part of parents, would take me along to museums and drag me along while they were so overjoyed over looking at old, dirty stuff, and never understood why the hell that should interest me in the littlest bit.

But lately, after having read a lot, and I mean a LOT about Egyptian, Mesopotamian and Greek history and culture I found my self incredibly amazed by ANYTHING I see in the museums from the 3000 b.C - b.o.C
It's just, so AMAZING when you imagine that these tools, all that stuff was USED by some person, or more people, just IMAGINE, that some 5000 years ago this ugly piece of rock shaped like a hammer was used to make simple fences, or that these Egyptian inscriptions were fucking HAMMERED into the FUCKING wall by people many, MAAANY years ago, it's absolutely overwhelming.
I find myself tearing up when I realize that that stuff had been used by the first civilized people on the fucking planet.

Did you experience this as well fellow newgrounders? And then I mean the somewhat older newgrounders, because let's be honest, most 16- teenagers don't give a rat's ass about antiques.

Your right!

Talkers are doing something. Beauties are being something. Which isn't bad, I just I don't know what it is they're being. It's more fun to be with people who are doing things.

I like antiques, my parents house has a lot of "antique" furniture in it, especially desks.

I like seeing inscriptions, paintings, and various tools, but pots? Pots are just shit. They should replace all pots with hammers. Museums would be much better places.

I hope I will never feel the same way about antiques as you. I'd rather save my emotions for family or something.
