Strict Mods

Now for the most part I think the mods on Newgrounds can be pretty lenient and are actually some of the nicest and fairest mods I've encountered on the internet(Seriously, not cock-sucking). But I've seen some mods on other websites that were just plain mean and unfair. I got perma-banned recently from a website that I was a long time and well respected member of just because I made one little sexist joke. I was at one website where there were a few mods that would ban you for cussing.

So people of Newgrounds what are some of your stories of mods, from this site or another, where you feel you were being treated unfairly or the mod was just a giant douche.

The mods do exactly what they're supposed to do, if you don't like it, post like a decent person. It doesn't take much to not get banned on here, you just gotta follow a few simple rules.

I can't recall a time where a moderator wasn't fair. They only ban you if you don't follow the rules. Just try to be a moderately good poster and keep on topic.

Some mods here are complete assholes, but such is the way of life.

You have to understand that the Admin Team are hundreds, if not thousands of miles way from their mod team, so communication is difficult.

I got banned for the same reason on here. THough I understand why, I was promoting the idea of an illegal activity. Kinda posting about how you're going to murder someone or rob a bank.

I got banned by an admin one time - it was a online mafia mmo. Anyhow, I was tired of them NEVER bothering adding to the game - it was boring. He never at least told us he was working on it.

When I spoke to him about it, he banned me and a few friends. Heh, I was the third strongest player there.

Oh well, shitty game, shitty administration.

I would rather the mods be really strict than have them not do their job. If we had no mods this place would turn into 4chan after a while. I also don't think a mod has ever just banned someone for shits and giggles.

Mods do there job perfectly fine. They ban you not for no reason cause you broke a rule so thats more your fault. There are some non active forum mods which confuses me cause they do nothing with there mod tools but they are still mods. But as for Malachy he does nothing wrong. He may be a little more strict than the other mods but he still does an ok job. I really dislike users that they get banned and they freak out on the mods and wish they were dead. When I used to get banned I would take my ban and learn from it.

Operative word: clear.
Often times, website rules are not totally clear and mods will interpret them depending on how well they like certain users. I was permabanned from the Clock Crew last January for no stated reason other than "EIGHTYSIXIN DIS BITCH!"
More recently, I had my account "suspended for 30 days" for posting like a sane person on a website run by absolute Nazis. I still have not had my privileges returned.

Well you have to take a couple of things into account.

1.) This is Newgrounds. You will get away with a lot of stuff you can't get away with anywhere else.

2.) Mods are different based on individuals, different mods have different feelings on different subjects you see. It's more than likely a female mod banned you, but that's besides the point. Here, most of the mods are screened and watched pretty carefully before they are modded.

As for my experience with mods, I usually don't like them. I've never liked people in positions of "authority" because most of them don't know what that means. A person in authority is more of a servant than anything else, bending to the will and needs of the people.

As for Newgrounds, the mods here are ok, sure they could be better but they're only human.

Well that is fine since it isn't a real ban and it is just a bit of a joke. I remember Jamoke used to have some questionable bans, but look who isn't a mod anymore.

I haven't in my time met a strict mod on this site. I've only been to two other forums, although I wasn't very active on the others and so never got banned.

wait wut? They can ban you from playing a game you bought becuase you got banned from the fourms? I'd take that to court and see how well it holds.

Actually, it probably is legal. When you play their games you electronically sign a contract that they write up. Usually no one reads them but I'm quite confident that they would have at least a small article based on this matter.

Bigbadron was a Nazi among Nazis way back when. He would ban people over the slightest infraction just because he didn't like them (i.e. they never sucked his cock). I was one of his victims.
