well, it's labor day, and for many people including myself, school starts tuesday or it already has. Where did this summer go? damn.

So, post interesting part(s) of your summer 2010. What was the best thing to happen to you this summer? What do you regret doing or not doing?

For me, having my first kisses/making outs was pretty nice. And losing 40 pounds. I just wish I hung out with my friends more towards the end.

Are you asking about our summers or just want everyone to know that you got pity kissed?

It was rather annoying. I have a much better summer when I'm NOT traveling with family.

I spent the better half of my summer in a different state partying my ass off, stoned as hell. Although the first half of the summer sucked ass, the other half was awesome. (in hindsight, I can't remember half of the summer :D)

I didn't do anything special for most of the summer. I scored myself a job because I'm not going back to school. So, I'm gonna see where this path will lead me.

I played some games, went to Taxachusetts for a weekend, read every Scott Pilgrim graphic novel, started learning to play guitar, rented Metroid: Other M, and continued my ongoing war against my one true nemesis: The sun.

What I accomplished from this: I learned how to play the first 30 seconds of Franz Ferdinand's "Take me out," I made an Other M parody comic, and I learned several Scott Pilgrim quotes which I say ad nauseum with my friends, much to the chagrin of my parents.

You should read Scott Pilgrim. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!

Oh, and before you think, "Wow, this guy is a lazy, nerdy fatass," I would like to say that I actually lost 13 lbs.

How you may ask? Through carefully planned out diet and excersize? Nope. Through barely eating.

I became extremely tan with all the time I spent by the beach and pools. Some fun with friends and some lessons learned. Overall one of the better summers i've had but not the best.

That was hurtful, Simon. Don't assume that because you can't do something, others can't.

I still have two weeks before I move back down to my uni town, however summer has been pretty drab. The weather has sucked and my cash flow has been horrific. Yet I've still managed to do fun things, go out with friends, go on holiday have parties, sex, etc etc. I wish I'd done more this summer, but nevermind.

I wasn't calling bullshit on the making out with girls part, just the losing 40lbs. Which quite frankly, isn't an option for me.

fuck yeah.

This was pretty much the peak of the summer. That, and nearly making £80 from t-shirts and books of cartoons that I'd made, in the space of one afternoon.

This summer was a lot of fun, actually.

I went to the beach almost every weekend, starting in early June, to read on the beach and ride the waves. My skin is so dark now that I no longer have to apply sunscreen (Melanoma? What's that?).

There were plenty of parties and nights out, both with local friends and friends coming in from out of town. I hung out with interesting Newgrounders, at both the Montreal Meet-up and the New Jersey Meet-up, and with guys who live in the area.

Work wasn't too bad - tedious at times, but overall an interesting (and resume-building) experience. Did some summer classes on my quest to graduate early as well.

All in all, a damn fun time.

I didn't do much but grow roots into my chair in front of my computer this whole summer.

During part of June however, I went to Oklahoma City to help my uncle and his family move to Texas (right next door to us). My grandparents from Minnesota made a surprise visit there too. We really didn't pack a whole lot while we were there, we mostly sat around doing Xbox or driving around OKC to do random stuff. I don't know, I kind of liked it up there in the stereotypical suburban neighborhood with my uncle and the baseball sized hail and tornado threats every which way.

But after that, the cup of boredom overflowed and made a stain in the carpet. I can't get it out.

Assuming control.

Well I got an extra few weeks off at the start as I had finished my exams and had no reason to remain in High School. It was 6 weeks or so for pretty much everyone else, but I got 8/9.
I bout 3 new games and completed 2.. still trying to convince myself to get back into Metro 2033, blasted through Resistance 2 and Torchlight which in my book I consider a success.
During the holiday I went out with friends.. well a friend.. once, to see Inception, which was good. Went to Cornwall to see my cousins for a week..
Other than that, I chilled the fuck out and made no attempt to prepare myself for the horror of A levels.

Good times.
