laziness

Yeah, it takes me forever to get things done in flash. Thinking about what the end product will be is a lot more fun than actually doing it I guess.

seriously though ive been procrastinating about doing animation for like 2 weeks now

I get a similar feeling with all projects I do, school or otherwise. I'm all, "WOW THIS IS A GREAT IDEA LETS GET STARTED!" and halfway through I think " Well, maybe it wasn't such a good idea, maybe I should just forget about it and let it go."

Unless I HAVE to finish it, I usually don't with this attitude.

Best solution: do everything at the last minute. I got lots of projects down like that.

I get that, what you need is just have a time of day where you are "Okay, its time to sit down and animate" or Program.... whatever it is you are doing in flash.
Also, a good night sleep helps :)

When I was 17 we had to do 4 week project on some artist, try to draw 15 pieces of his work, information, the whole shabang.

Got up at 5am on the day it was meant to be in and worked like hell. All done by 7am.

It ended up showcased.

Haha, I used to make a lot of flashes but then I tried to make a really big one and became too lazy to work on it. I felt I set the bar too high for one particular flash so I never really got back to working on it. And besides, right now I have more fun watching other flashes and making icons for them.
