God people's ignorance on deafness is borderline offensive. And the replies so far, (most of them) have been blatantly offensive. Several members of my family are deaf, including one of my brothers. They think just the same. Probably in pictures. Obviously no sound. But some of you act like deaf people are mentally retarded when, quite frankly, that couldn't be further from the truth.
