Old cartoonish map effect 2010-09-03 20:11:15

I have been trying to create a map for an area in a game I am designing, and I don't know what program to use / how to get this map effect. How do I do it? Can I make it in flash? Photo shop? :/

For that kind of effect, you would need to use a raster program, such as Photoshop or GIMP. You can use this tutorial as an idea on how to create an old paper effect. Also, if you have further questions, you'd probably get more help over in the Where is / How to? forum. ;)

I'll ask there too, but It's not the paper effect itself really that I am having problems with, it's actually drawing the objects on the paper(pathways, buildings, mountains) and making them look... right.

If you need some inspiration, you could look at the Nolli Map.

As it says in the art forum rules:
"If you are starting a new topic you MUST start with a piece of your own original art. If you are looking for advice, please share your work as an example of what you are trying to accomplish."

So why don't you show us your attempts so we can see where you're at.

Cool. Do that in a new thread.

... and they'll redirect you back to the art forum.
Wi/Ht forum's for site questions, not technical questions about Flash and Photoshop.
