Would the world be a much happier place if everyone was beautiful. Sure it may be a little boring because there would noone to compare people's looks to. But still, everywhere you go there would be someone hot and everybody would be checking everybody out. What do you think?

Alastor, in the begining everyone was beautiful. You never saw adam as a fat guy did you? Or how about eve? Yes, in the beggining we were beautiful, its just that beautiful people make ugly babies. God balances things that way.

But think of it this way. If everyone was beautiful, then there would be no beautiful. Everyone would look just about the same, so everyone would be simply "average," and there would be no breaking waway from that.

Also, say everyone in the world was ugly. Then there would still be no beautiful, and everyone would still be considered equally attractive no matter what they looked like.

I believe I have a handsome face with an attractive body, more or less. I'm a hefty sized guy, but I have a whole lot of muscle on me. It works to my advantage. A lot of girls like my thickness... Good light olive complexion, big round eyes, black hair and with the vampire "v" hairline. Good kissing lips... My only complaint would be my Mexican nose, although it does suit my features pretty well. But I think what makes people more attracted to me is my personality. I'm a good listener and talker, and I'm nice to all people I know. Here's my picture, you determine if I got a nice face.

If we were all beautiful there would still be those considered by others to be less beautiful. There are varying degree's of it and there would still be "ugly" people in a "beautiful" world. Besides, the only way you could achieve total equality with looks is if everyone looked exactly the same.

I have a slight problem with the thinking here... you even mentioned it in your original post when you said, "Yeah, things would get boring..." etc. It's not that things would get boring, though. We would still have the same separation of beautiful and ugly, it would just be much more fine of a separation. Right now, there is huge separation between the most beautiful and the least beautiful.

But take for instance a world in which every woman and man were a supermodel. We would still have a sliding scale from "Most beautiful" to "least beautiful," and there would still be an average with people below and people above said line. The only way you would know that everyone's beautiful is if you came from today's world, where the average is lower than in this fictitious world. See, everything would still normalize and balance out in a world such as the one you described, so no, it wouldn't be happier. It would only be better for someone who's used to our current society, not someone who was born and brought up in the society I created.

Like someone said, being beautiful is a opinion, so, in order to be universally beautiful, we would all have to looke the same. Then, nobody would be checking anybodies physical traits out, but more of there mental traits. So instead of attempting to look nice, we would be trying to improve on our personalities.

But then again, beautiful isn't just a physical trait, it's also mental, so in order for all of us to be beautiful, everyone would look the same and have the same personality... ow... my brain hurts...

Ha ha ha, but that's exactly what I was talking about. The only way we won't have a spectrum for beauty is if everyone looked EXACTLY the same. But then, we'd still probably have beauty in the way people talked, in the way they walked, etc. No matter what we have, we will always come up with an average and a spectrum surrounding said average. So, once again, we wouldn't know that we were in a world of all beautiful people unless we were put there from our current world.
