This has crossed my mind lately, with all the scares of ACTA and the end of interwebs and corporate takeovers.
What happens when Tom gets old? I mean, think about it, he's 32 years old, how can we be sure the bastard (just kidding, I love you tom) doesn't do a stan lee and sell out to a big media company, like google? It would be horrific, a SFW version of newgrounds with 50% of the content ripped out? Seriously, it must be a lot of work and resources required to keep this site running. It is expanding every second. Hosting must be expensive. How long until tom abandons his little pet project?
Seriously Tom, I have to know. What do you plan on doing with newgrounds? Is it destined to become like Kongregate, Or Will you pass up the mantle to your son?

Because Newgrounds was never about the money, Tom could have made loads more if he wanted but instead he chose to make a fun site that he could make a living of too.

It's pretty near and dear to Tom's heart, but I dunno, really. I hope he continues to take care of it for many many years, into his 40's perhaps. Technically, that's relatively young to be commandeering a website of Newgroundic proportions.

Not all fathers are like their sons. I am certainly not like my father. For all we know Tom's som could grow up and not give 2 shits about NG. I want my future offspring to be able to experience the joys of Newgrounds. Fuck Kongregate.

This site makes plenty in ad revenue: the fact that he can pay a small staff, host numerous contests, and still find other ways to spend money should demonstrate to you that Newgrounds is more than a "pet project." In fact this site is a few people's source of income; and if I were them I would be insulted by how you belittle this site. And if I were Tom I would be more so, though he has to be used to a few angst driven teens by now.
The site is expanding, yes (that is a GOOD thing). Have you noticed the increasing number of staff members? And the other news posts about increasing bandwidth, ect? Tom has this under control; and when it is time for him to retire he will more than likely just name a new CEO like any other company would. Yes, Newgrounds is a company.

And I know that Newgrounds is a company, I just don't want it to become devoid of personality, and have severely strict rules on what you can or cannot upload.

the day a female runs this site is the day it tanks - believe me - I've been part of staffs where a female "ran" the site - doesn't go well.
The fate of Newgrounds rests in Tom's son's hands. When the day comes, he shall be put to the test.

True. Tom could make a heap of cash if he would sell NG to some big company. But he has put his heart and soul into this site and I doubt he would ever sell it. Thank goodness.
