Mine is of a sea full of sharks, its amazing. Although i should put another, the shark one is starting to get.... common.

No, that would be #000000.
Base 16 colour codes mix red green & blue as if they were light. The amount of light ranges from 00 to FF. If you put one colour to FF (with the other two at 00) you get a solid colour, if you edit the other two so that they display hexadecimals above 00 then there is more light being taken into the equation. If the other two both had an equal amount of digits then the solid colour at FF would become brighter. If the highest colour then went down to about A5 then it would lose it's purity & go slightly greyer.

With all codes put up to FF you get the equivalent of red green & blue lights at the same brightness pointing at the same spot, thus the mix causes whiteness. This was first discovered by a German scientist in early 1930's when he found that by mixing red, green & blue filters you can create a colour photograph. This was also when they started making films in colour, but you could only see colour films on projectors until a few decades later when they started manufacturing tube TVs with colour. They operate with red, green & blue lights that can display fully coloured picture.

Then they made plasma TVs, I don't know how they work exactly off by heart.
