3.80 / 5.00 4,200 ViewsYesterday I was downloading the new iTunes (version 9.2.5 or whatever) when it finished installing. I tried to open the program once it was finished downloading SUCCESSFULLY. A window pops up saying Windows is Configuring iTunes with a bar the loads with time above it stating Time Left: 3 seconds etc.
Now, my problem is I have the updated Quicktime, uninstaleld both and downloaded again, retsarted my computer a couple times and still the same thing happens and occassionally says 'Fatal Error' and says it can't create a shortcut. I ran an Avast Antivirus thorough scan and found a Malware and Trojan virus in the file.. now the only thing is how to get rid of it. I can't create a shortcut for any program downloaded, I already downloaded a Malware Malbytes program and used it once without problem. Removed several viruses then retsrated the computer as it said. I tried running it and it said it couldn't create a desktop shortcut and uninstalled.. WTF!? Help? I'm pretty much clueless at this point lol.

Try huffing Drano, that should solve your problem. Don't end up face down in a pool somewhere!
Download Spybot search and destroy, it'll get rid of those nasties for you!
If not, AVG.

right the second you turn on your computer repetedly tap F8 which should bring you to the safe mode menu you then go onto safe mode with networking once you go on go onto internet explorer. once on internet explorer go to tools-internet options then go to connections and lan settings. then check the box to use a proxy server. you can then go and reaserch more about the virus and how to remove it
if this doesn't work then you should take it to a proffessional

First and foremost, stop using Itunes.
Try removing it with SuperAntiSpyware, then with A-Squared Free, if it doesn't work seach google for combofix, but be very careful with it.

that differs per computer, I tried every key on my old laptop once and the only thing that helped was smashing every key on my keyboard on boot.
Haze I already tried download Spybot Search and Destroy but it's not letting me download it. It stayed at Setup for almost 20 minutes and I couldn't even bring up the program.
And Rebu I've already stopped using it, I've removed iTunes AND Quicktime. Can't download it at all.

Just download Antivirus Soft! One day I was surfing the web just like that and it installed itself on my computer! I didn't even have to do anything! You know what else? I didn't even realize how many threats were attacking my computer before I got this, because it notified me of every single one! Then when the viruses on my computer started corrupting my computer so I couldn't run anything, I bought the full version of this amazing software and it removed all those viruses instantly!
I had to pay for it directly from my bank account though because stupid PayPal was down.

Either way same principle. It should tell you the key during POST, although it is generally F8. If not, restart and check POST.
If you really can't install anything, search for some kind of online scanner, most major anti-virus companies have one, and it's an option.

You don't know what you're talking about. Antivirus soft does a lot of extra awesome things that I didn't even mention, like deleting those system restore points that you probably don't even use in the first place! It saves you disk space and speeds up your computer at the same time.
