Now if you're visiting NG at work you can just tell your boss you're visiting a site voted by Time magazine as the 44th best website on the internet...
...it's a piece of modern history.

Seriously. Ng is really well planned and designed, look at all the features and all the sexy.
Congrats Tom and Everyone else who helped NG
Why not top 10?
We are the best :P

I note that they have declined to rank the websites in the top 50, just throw the 50 best sites out there and write a little blurb.
Still, don't let my cynicism take away from this - great work Tom, for both you and the gang.
Man, this is really awesome and so deserved!
Besides the obvious cool things at newgrounds, it is really a place to be creative and I can imagine that many people who submit here will become the creative heads in the entertainment industry in 10-20 years :)
So *thumbs up*
Nice publicity. But it's unreal to think Newgrounds is ranked #4 in Top 5 best sites for games. Just because we allow mature and even adult rated content on here. Yet again, people fail to see Age ratings.
I usually frequent the VG and collaboration Forums. If you find me anywhere else, I'm lost and can't find my way back.
Hooray Newgrounds. Next step: World domination!
But honestly, Newgrounds is much better than many sites on that list. The reason why NG isn't known by an even bigger audience is that almost everything is allowed. It's not selling itself out and the users decide what stays on the site.
But porn and spam deters many people from visiting the site regularly or sharing the site with their family and friends.
Still that's the soul of Newgrounds and that's because the user base maybe a little smaller but therefore solid and it has earned it's place internet history.
Just my cheesy two cents.... NG I ruv u!
It's great to see a major source like Time recognizing Newgrounds. Their NG description was short and to the point, but NG has so much more to offer than games.

How do you steal NG's spot in TIME, Eric Bauman?
This will be sig quoted for epic win. ALL HAIL THE MOTHERLAND!

I certainly think you've achieved many of these objectives already. It's a place that's easy to make a lot of like-minded friends. And for me, personally, Newgrounds is the catalyst behind my interest in animation, as well as the main thing fueling and inspiring me to progress and develop on top of those skills, so I can entertain people here, and try to give back the amount that Newgrounds has given me.
And you just loved knowing that every time you went to the arcade, there was the potential for your mind to be blown.
I love this line, and Newgrounds certainly does deliver. What astonishes me is every day, a massive variety of incredible animations, songs, pieces of art and games are pumped into this site. There's so many creative people buzzing with creative energy, and where better to share it, than here?
On top of that, every year, younger and better; animators, programmers, musicians and artists keep flooding in, and I think targeting to inspire younger audiences is the direction Newgrounds should ultimately be heading.
What a good looking mirror.

Be a catalyst for creativity.
Foster long-term, fruitful relationships amongst talented individuals.
Provide the public with a unique experience they won't find elsewhere.
You and the NG team have made this site an extremely positive experience for me and so many millions of people globally throughout the years. I look forward to watching Newgrounds climb to #1.
Hmm... I wonder how much traffic the new redesign will bring to newgrounds. That will definitely up the ranking on there.
Thats awesome! NG deserves that. But it's not only a game site. It also has movies and music and art and stuff. I think it deseves to be in the Top 10.
Kinda pisses me off that a site that was started four years ago that is basically like any crappy flash hosting site with the added bonus of leveling up (which we had) is above Newgrounds. Newgrounds should easily be number one in the games section, even though it's not just games :/
Yea, fuck you Kongregate.
Not bad. Maybe it could go higher somewhere in the future.
I remember when this shit used to shock me. Maybe I've grown jaded. I don't know what it is really, but I'm really, really proud of the artists that made this site possible. I've never attempted flash animation. It all ended with Mario Paint, but I've watched and have seen the effort it takes to eak out a feeble 30 seconds of decent project. I AM PROUD TO BE A PART OF NEWGROUNDS ON THIS DAY! To Tom: Thank you for giving me lasting memories that will forever be a part of my life. My friends and I still sit around and talk of Blundercats and FDA and Pico's School. We're almost thirty years old this year. Thank you and thanks to all the animators. I am proud to have even viewed your work. All of you.
