Personally, I wouldnt care if NG changed the look of the page, as long as the content remained the same and there were no more pop ups... its too bad it can never happen. BTW, i kinda liked the red background, it was a fresh change

Some of you picked up on the inspiration for this joke - some time ago, McDonalds actually did buy a "total sponsorship" package with a website - IGN.com. They actually rebranded their entire site to reflect the golden arches, with pictures of McGriddles floating around in every corner. It would be cool to have a sole sponsor for the site, but that just isn't the way to do it. The user backlash on IGN caused them to revert back to their original format. I'll attach a screenshot to this post, so you can see just how truly horrifying it was. :)

I remeber when they did that, IGN got a shitload of complaints because whenever you went to any of the game reviews an advertisement came up with mcdonalds on it. Needless to say they did quickly change back to their old colors of blue and black.

yeah, that layout wasn't too bad (besides the i'm lovin it slogin, i hate that with a white hot passion). and if it got rid of the pop-ups, i'd be all for it.
