What exactly is tweening? Every animation I've done so far is frame by frame, and it seems that every tutorial talks about it, but never really explains it out.

Tweening can be used for a bunch of differen things. What it really does it changes one keyframe into the next keyframe. In means of skewing, rotating, sliding and messing with the alpha.

It is really neat to use for some things, but i wouldn't use it too much. If you use too much tweening, in my opinion, the flash starts to look really like not enough work was put into it.

Is there any other kind of animating beside FbF, or Tweening?

You can implement both at once :P like the Decline of Video gaming series, on the Flash Bros site they have good tutorials on general flash animation.

probably the most professional use of Tweening and Fbf Ive never seen.

Though he does tend to be on the Fbf side.

Tweening = inbetweening, making the computer fill in the empty frames.

It doesn't work very good, but it's easy when you want to move something in a straight line.
